J. Cole: Mr. Nice Watch (feat. Jay-Z)

Initially I hated this song. But it's starting to grow on me. The beat is ridiculous. At first at sounds like a cut that shouldn't have made "Watch The Throne." But then it really comes to together. Who knew that a crazy synth and soft piano ballad could go together. I usually hate Jermaine's beats.. but he did his thing on this one. As for the lyrics: they're aight. J. Cole got murdered on his own damn song, which is never a good thing. But he had a few good lines. I'm just sick of hearing songs about how rich they are (that means you Jay).
Is "Cole World: The Sideline Story" gonna be a classic. Nah. It's got too many old songs: Lights Please & In The Morning (which was never even that good from the beginning). Work Out was a horrible song. Can't Get Enough was pretty decent. But this song really doesn't push it's cause to being the great album it's gonna be. Right now the dude's got more dickriders than anyone in the game. Every blog is full of people praising Cole. Which is understandable cuz he's pretty talented. But I think that he's gonna get a lot of hate for his album, because it won't live up to standards (at this point, stakes are so high that he has to put out an album better than "Illmatic"). This song, and probably the rest of the album, will be very well done. Definitely an above average, and very different song. The album will probably be in the middle of my Top 10 of this year.
