Tyga: Bitch I'm The Shit

Latest mixtape from Young Money's own Tyga. Don't forget, his debut album on YMCMB drops on January 24th of next year. So go out and cop "Careless World" when it hits the stores. Till then, enjoy the tape.

01. #BitchImTheShit - Excellent start to the tape. Tyga spits an extremely catchy chorus over a very L.A. sounding beat. His voice got even doper (if that's even possible) and he shows he's improved his lyrics here. The overall product of a bumping beat, catchy punchlines, a crazy hook, an excellent rapping voice, and a slick flow is a promising start to the tape.
02. Bitch Bett A Have Money Feat. YG & Kurupt - Very westcoast sounding beat on this one. The bass fucking knockss. And that sample makes a crazy sample. Tyga gives a nice verse with a bouncy flow. YG sounds like he has down syndrome so I wasn't really feeling his verse. Kurupt is average. That dude's old as fuck though, I remember when he was on the Dr. Dre's first album. Anyways, catchy song here.
03. Make It Nasty - Club song right here. I could see this one catching on like "Rack City." This one's strictly for the clubs. If you haven't seen the video.. well uh get on that. I'm not gonna post it in here because it ain't for children. But here's the link: Make It Nasty. For those of you that have, WTF????? I swear, hip hop videos are gonna be straight porn in a year. And that bunny fucking the sex doll? Tyga Tyga's got some weird bestiality or something. Tyga musta had a real fucked up easter bunny taking teeth from under his pillow for him to come up with this aha. Man that video made to make people feel awkward I swear... As my boy Andriy said, "Tyga musta been horny as fuck on this mixtape." Ahahah truth to that. But anyways, the songs dope. Oh and because Gifs are my new thing aha, here's my gif for this one (Imma try to do one for every post):

He made it nasty...
04. Pop It
05. In This Thang - Weird little instrumental here. Hip hop beats on rarely based around bass guitars in this day and age. With the simple beat, Tyga's able to flow his slow flow and smooth voice. Simple but cool track here.
06. Orgasm - Once again, Tyga sounds like a dude rapping after his first time. This is dirtyy man aha, I can't even imagine the video for this one. Aside from the colorful images of Tyga smashing bitches in his kitchen, Tyga actually has an extremely catchy chorus. And this beat might be my favorite on the tape. It's sooo smooth. I like this one a lot regardless of what it's about. Favorite Song!!!
07. Dancin 4 Dollas
08. Heisman Feat. Honey Cocaine - This one leaked a while ago. Honey Cocaine is... well an Asian chick with braces. Dunno who told her rap but whatever. Tyga does this beat justice with a lower voice than usual. It's tough to say he's below average on tracks like this.
09. Mack Down Feat. Juicy J - The moment I saw Juicy J's name, I knew the beat was gonna be good. Tyga sounds excellent on southern beats I must say. Juicy J gives a solid verse here. Nice track here.
10. Bad Bitches Remix Feat. Gudda Gudda & 2Chainz
11. Get Gnarley - This beat sounds like something Beyonce would sing on ahaha. But Tyga rocks out on this one. I laughed by ass off him using the word "gnarly." This one's a party track for Cali, so we should probably throw a few ragers in the near future to utilize this track *hint hint*.
12. Bouncin On My D!ck Feat. Dashdcadet
13. Heisman Pt. 2 Feat. Honey Cocaine
14. Fuck With U - This beat is fucking odd (along with the rest of the track). And Tyga's singing threw me off. This sounds a cut from Rebirth. Not sure how I feel about this one yet. It's one of those tracks that I will either love or hate in two weeks. It's just incredibly experimental for Tyga. So I guess I give him props for that. But Tyga, stick to hip hop. We already had one person ruin their legacy on your label with a rock album..
15. The Motto Drake Feat. Tyga & Lil Wayne - Review

Tyga's doin a hell of job for giving himself promotion. His single is number 9 on iTunes right now (go out and cop it) and he's running the mixtape game. I don't even consider him a part of Young Money because they've done so little for him. But I respect hip hop fans a shitload for recognizing his talent and making him famous. T-Raw's gonna put one of the best albums of 2012 out (up there with Big K.R.I.T.), I can just feel it. Why? Well this mixtape is all the proof you need. He's matured every part of his sound. So go ahead and talks shit about Tyga because he's on a rap label consisting of Gudda Gudda & T-Streets... But Tyga's got talent. This tape is basically all clubbing music, but it's gonna get him buzz. All the songs are catchy and he shows his wide variety of skills. "Bitch I'm the Shit" is one of the best tapes I've heard this year.

Bitch I'm The Shit

Los: The Crown Ain't Safe

Baltimore's very own hits us with his latest tape. The dude's been gettin' some real buzz and he's proven he's got some talent so let's see how he does.

1. Make You Fly feat Jazze Pha (Prod by Lifted)
2. Living My Dreams (Prod by Mike Cash)
- Los spits some motivational shit here about doing your thing. Mike Cash gives a piano oriented track with some real nice drums. The DMV representative definitely shows that he's got some slick lyrics here. And he flexes his flawless double timing at the end.
3. King Los feat Lola Monroe (Prod by J Feddy)
- Solid beat here. Los gives an excellent flow as he spits dizzying rhymes about gettin' money and pullin' bitches. Lola Monroe, another recent signee to Taylor Gang, is quite impressive here. She's one of the better female rappers I've heard in a while.
4. Money Loud (Prod by Jahlil Beats) - Jahlil Beats laces us with a pretty average beat (for him) here. Los spits a semi slow flow here. This one's a banger, but I expected it to be better. Solid effort here.
5. Stroke Of Genius (Prod by Mike Cash) - Weirddd beat here ahaha. Los' lyrics from :56- 1:04 are dopeee. This is one has got some of his better lyrics. And that hook is fucking funny and incredibly raw at the same time. After hearing this one.. it's tough to deny this dude's talent.
6. 2 Vs 1 (Prod by The Young Boyz) - Simple track. Los speaks to the bitches here. This is a real westcoast beat (which is odd because he's from the westcoast).
7. Wait For It (Prod by Jazze Pha)
8. Biggest Fan feat Sean Hayz & Kid Ink (Prod by TheOnly4Point0) - This instrumental here is crazyyy. The way they flipped that choir sample was impressive. And that chorus is ridiculously catchy. The guy who sings it doesn't even have that great of a voice, but it works. Kid Ink (who has ben growing on me) gives a good verse (for him). He's not ridiculously lyrical, but he's got a cool voice and delivery. Los' first verse is solid. The entire idea of them (being the famous rappers) following the groupies like their number one fans is a very creative idea for a give back to their fans.
9. What’s Good (Prod by Battleroy) - This is a veryyy J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League-esque beat. The orchestra feel mixed with the hype-beast guitars and drums is gorgeous. Los spits a catchy chorus and has some excellent bars. He definitely lives up to the talent of this beat. Favorite Song!!!
10. Shine feat Phil Ade (Prod by Drum Machine)
11. Finally Here feat Twista (Prod by The Loft) - This one leaked sans Twista a little while back. Twista was a nice addition though. Los proves that he's actually got a nice voice along with dope bars on this one. Nice track.
12. All The Way To Church feat Jazze Pha (Prod by Battleroy)
13. Get It feat XV (Prod by Lifted)
14. Make You Proud feat Sean Hayz & DMX (Prod by Reign)
15. Fast Lane feat Ernie Gaines (Prod by Rick Steel)
16. Masterpiece (Prod by Calvo)
17. Never Say Never feat Sean Hayz (Prod by J Oliver)
18. Vintage Rolls Royce Interior (Prod by Drum Machine)
19. Outro feat Sean Hayz (Prod by Reign) - Los spits about his talent over a very relaxed and slow track. Los' punchlines are on pointt here. Sean Hayes songs a muchhh better chorus compared to his previous effort. Great ending to a great mixtape.

So.. Los does indeed live up to the hype. He proves that he deserves to be one of the hottest up and coming emcees. His beat selection is a little iffy, but that should improve as he gets more famous. I wish he had rapped with a little more substance, but he's making bangers so he can catch some attention. Which is respectable. Keep an eye out for Los. He's on the verge of taking the game by a storm.

Juicy J: Blue Dream & Lean

Latest Mixtape from the latest Taylor Gang signee. If you have a dope system or some nice headphones... you're gonna love this. It's all straight partying and going ape shit music.

Wiz agrees with me.. You betta go hard to this shit.

01. Intro
02. Drugged Out [Prod. By Lex Luger & Juicy J] -
Lex laces us with a banger on this one. Juicy talks about how he sells and deals drugs. Although Lex's producition is a little worse on this tape (compared to Rubbaband Business 1 & 2), he's on point here. Dope start to this tape. Favorite Song!!!
03. Juicy J Can’t [Prod. By Sonny Digital]
04. Errbody Wave [Prod. By Juicy J]
05. Riley [Prod. By Lex Luger] - A lot of people are feeling this one. I'd say it's pretty good, but not the best. It's gotta real catchy chorus so maybe that's it. Regardless, Lex Luger (which is really the only reason you'd listen to a Juicy J tape) gives us a half-assed beat and it hurts the song a little bit.
06. Big Bank (Feat. Key) [Prod. By Drumma Boy] - I wouldn't have thought that Drumma Boy & Juicy J to be a great collab. But Juicy's simple lyrics actually fit Drumma's extremely complex beat. Oh and that Key guy is pretty good.
07. Get Higher [Prod. By Lex Luger & Young Ced] - This one reminds me of Rubbaband Business. Except one of the more mediocre songs on it. Juicy J has improved his delivery since then, but Lex has lost his originality. Solid track for the whip.
08. Geeked Up On Them Bars [Prod. By Sonny Digital]
09. Lucky Charm [Prod. By Juicy J & Crazy Mike] - Juicy J's productions are usually a little too slow for me. But he does a hell of a job with those vocal samples. If rapping doesn't work out, Juicy could be quite the producer.
10. Oh Well (Remix) (Feat. 2 Chainz) [Prod. By Lex Luger]
11. Trippy Nation (Interlude)
12. Ain’t Allowed Where I’m From (Feat. Project Pat & Driicky Graham) [Prod. By Young Ced]
13. Got A New One [Prod. By Juicy J & Crazy Mike]
14. She Dancin’ [Prod. By Lex Luger]
15. This Bitch By My Side [Prod. By Lex Luger]
16. Cash (Interlude)
17. You Want Deez Rackz [Prod. By Lex Luger & Sonny Digital] - I like Sonny Digital and I like Lex Luger quite a bit. But I was a little surprised with this one. I woulda thought that Sonny Digital woulda used his skills with synths to work with Lex's talent with the drums. But nope. The song switches up halfway through and lemme tell you... the second half is a lott better than the first half. The second half is more of what I expected from these two producers. And it makes up for the ehhh first half.
18. Zip & A Double Cup (Remix) (Feat. 2 Chainz & Tha Joker) [Prod. By Lex Luger]
19. U Trippy Mane (Feat. Kreayshawn) [Prod. By Key]
20. Gotta Stay Strapped (Feat. Alley Boy & Project Pat) [Prod. By Juicy J]
21. I Don’t Play With Guns (Feat. Alley Boy & Project Pat) [Prod. By Lex Luger]
22. Stoner’s Night 2 (Feat. Wiz Khalifa) [Prod. By Harry Fraud] - Harry Fraud's been gettin' some buzz lately with the success of French Montana's "Shot Caller" single. He puts together an extremely nice smoker track here. The vocal sample is fucking gorgeous. It's a nice change from the rest of the tape. Wiz and Juicy make quite the team. If Harry Fraud starts working with Taylor Gang more.. I will be in heaven.
23. Been Gettin’ Money [Prod. By Sonny Digital]
24. Real Hustler’s Don’t Sleep (Feat. Space Ghost Purp & ASAP Rocky) [Prod. By Big Jerm & ID Labs]
25. Deez Bitches Rollin’ (Feat. Space Ghost Purp & Speakz) [Prod. By Juicy J & Crazy Mike] - Juicy J hits us with another dope beat. The songs got a nice southern feel, especially that chorus. But Spaceghost Purp, who has been catching buzz after his features on the A$AP Rocky mixtape, steals the show here with a nicee double time flow. Keep an eye out for him. He's gonna put out some dope material in the future.
26. Outro
27. Countin’ Faces [Prod. By Drumma Boy]
28. Flood Out The Club (Feat. Casey Veggies] [Prod. By A One]

Juicy gives us exactly what we expected. A tape full of bangers. Don't expect anything ridiculously lyrical. Just dope beats and catchy lyrics.

Drake: Take Care

As many of you know, I've gotten a job at atrilli (which is one of the bigger hip-hop blogs on the net), so I won't be posting here much. At this point, I'm gonna be doing only review for dope albums/mixtapes. Anyways, here's the review for Drake's second album, "Take Care."

Tracklist:

1. Over My Dead Body - Drake starts off the album with a dope piano led beat, with a smooth chorus from the Canadian songstress, Chantal Kreviazuk. Drizzy speaks about his recent successes and about his mistakes in the game. He's very honest here and really gives you a great picture of his life in the game. My only complaint: he's got some sickk bars on that latest verse and then all the sudden he breaks off into some singing bullshit "oh so you think you a funny guyyyy." Really Drake.. you had to sing that bar and ruin your flow? Regardless, the track serves as an amazing intro.
2. Shot For Me - Eh.
3. Headlines - Wasn't ridiculously stoked about this single when it first dropped. But it fits with the album so I've started liking it more. The chorus is... not great. That first verse is good. The second one has got way too much singing. The beat grew on me. At first I hated it. It's probably the most hardcore instrumental on the album.
4. Crew Love (feat. The Weeknd) - This one's more of The Weeknd feat. Drake track but it's whatever... the beat is crazy good (thanks to The Weeknd's in house producer Illangelo). Those loud and fast cymbals switch the pitch soo perfectly. Without them the track woulda been too slow and boring. The Weeknd has got a great voice. Can't deny that, especially after hearing him on this one. Then Drake comes in with one of his better verses on the album, while the beat matches his rhymes with a different drum kit. Expect to hear this one in the clubs.
5. Take Care (feat. Rihanna) - Seems like Drake is lining up all the club songs at the very beginning. Don't expect too much from this one, it's gonna be a radio hit (trust me). Rihanna does a nice little chorus. Then Drake breaks off into song (what did you expect?). The beats a very clubby sound with some nice piano chords. That little interlude at the end of the song is fucking hilarious, with what sounds like two old guys talking ahaha. Anyways, this one's gonna be on replay on 94.9 in a few months.
6. Marvin’s Room - This song is gorgeous. "Marvins Room" is just about the only track with Drake singing that I like. The phone call on the chorus, the "I'm just saying you could do better"... everything about this track is well executed.
7. Buried Alive (Interlude) - Kendrick Lamar actually does this one. And he goes the fuck off. K. Dot lays down the best verse on the whole album.. on an interlude.
8. Under Ground Kings - Cool little tribute song to Pimp C & Bun B. This one is veryy southern. But then again, the whole album has got a more southern and dark sound compared to Drizzy's previous work. T-Minus (who is one of my favorite producers out right now) produces this one. Drake speaks on his struggles of "back in the day."
9. We’ll Be Fine - Another T-Minus produced track. First off, that bass line is dope. It caught my attention right away. I don't think I've ever heard an 808 slidee into the next note in the bass line. That was very creative. Drizzy's a little monotone here, but he's lyrically on point. And don't worry... Birdman doesn't actually have a feature (those of you looking at the album on iTunes and saying "Oh fuck. Drake let him have a guest verse?). All Birdman does is talk for the last minute of the song. I'll put the lyrics up for Birdman's verse (cuz I'm sure many of you will want them): "Yeah, Drizzy, yo turn n*gga, take care of the business n*gga (shine on these n*ggas), give these niggas the business nigga, kill spray anything in the way, n*gga, fuck em! we don't love em, yeah, it's just that uptown gangsta shit, Toronto, stand up, for one of the realest n*ggas, Drizzy, with the realest flow, toast to this gangsta shit, OVO-YMCMB, you understand me?, playing with these motherfucking millions like they ain't nothing, rubber band stacks, that YMCMB shit n*gga, flashy lifestyle, one hundred."
10. Make Me Proud (feat. Nicki Minaj) - Drake is seriously running against Kendrick Lamar for worst choruses on an album in 2011 (Section.80 was dope... but the hooks were god awful). Seriously though, did the guy who put this song together just take one of Drizzy's lines, cut out a part, put it on repeat, and call it a day and use that shit as the chorus? And Nicki Minaj... no comment. But let's get beyond the negativity. The beat was great (thanks T-Minus!), and Drake's flow was ill. I HATED this track when it first dropped. But it grew on me a bit.
11. Lord Knows (feat. Rick Ross) - Just Blaze makes dope beats. That's all I have to say about the music behind the rhymes. Drake gives his best punchlines on this one compared to any other song on "Take Care." He speaks on how he would die for his team and about what his haters and motivators do for him. The beat switches up perfectly for Rozay's verse, and Ross gives a boss-like verse.. typical Ricky.
12. Cameras/Good Ones Go (Interlude) - This has gotta be my favorite beats on the album. When the production credits first leaked, it was said that "Cameras" was co-produced by Lex Luger. Which isn't surprising, considering the fast snare taps and the heavy 808's. The vocal sample is great as well. Drake's verses are pretty good, but they sound lazy as fuckk. Drake's got a tendency to go superr monotone and he falls into that trap here. He also gives yet another shitty chorus. But the track is dope nonetheless. Drake's lyrics + the best beat on "Take Care" = solid track.... Oh and there's another song on this interlude. Uh well... It sucks. Cameras is the only one worth listening to.
13. Doing It Wrong (feat. Stevie Wonder) - Some people have said this one is boring. On first listen.. it is. The beat is gorgeous. Nuff said. It sounds like a church organ or something. I fucks with it. Drake does some singing here, and it's the only track on the album (other than "Marvin's Room") that I can fuck with his singing. But the best part is the last minute of the song. I give Drake hugee props for being really musical and letting a fucking harmonica be a feature on his album. Stevie Wonder has bars at that instrument. It's crazy that Stevie's part actually made this song.
14. The Real Her (feat. Lil Wayne & Andre 3000) - I gave a very negative review to this one earlier this month. The month has got a real southern ballad here. I still hate the singing on this one. I could live with it on two of the tracks. But at this point, he's sang for half the album. And this track wasn't even a good one to sing on (unlike Marvins Room). As I said before, Lil Wayne rocks a nice flow on a very short verse. Now unlike the leaked version, this one comes with a verse from one of the greatest rappers of all time, Andre 3000. Lemme tell you, Andre 3k gives on of the strangest verses I've heard this year... And by strangest, I mean best. Andre speaks on the issues of the female hierarchy, gives references to the Boise State field (crazy right?), and speaks on love. It's verses like these that make Andre 3k deserving of being in the top 10 emcees of all time.
15. Look What You’ve Done - Chase N. Cashe (of Surf Club) cooks up a dope beat here with some cool vocal samples, yet another soft piano line, and a dirty south influence drum beat (I'm telling you, Drake's turning into the next Bun B). Drake gives an extremely emotional verse about his troubles with his own mother, in maintaining income and her health while keeping their family ties. It's one of the realest and most unique verses I've heard in a while. He speaks on some stories of the mischief he got into during his childhood on the second verse. The chorus is very simple but it sounds nice. The song finishes off with a tearjerker of a message from his mother as an outro to the song. The song serves as a great change, considering a lot of his subject matter his been similar on the album. This one's easily the best lyrical song on the album due to Drake's storytelling and truthfulness... and it's my Favorite Song!!!
16. HYFR (Hell Ya Fuckin Right) [feat. Lil Wayne] - Another club song, and a very strange follow up to the last song. T-Minus is on the beat again. I actually don't really like this beat all that much, but it gets you pumped. I can't put my finger on what I don't like about the instrumental. I think (key word: think) that I dislike those synths in the background. They're wayy too whiny. Drake gives his best flow on the album with that first verse. Holy shit, Drake spits fire to start things off. Wayne continues the pattern of speedy rapping and tells a dope sex story. Drake does his thing, but Wayne outshines him by combining a nice flow, crafty punchlines, and an intriguing story.
17. Practice - This one's bad. Drake literally ruined Juvenile's "Back that Azz Up." I'm not doing a review for this shit.
18. The Ride (feat. The Weeknd) - This one was Drake's favorite track on the album. The beats a very simple combination of various vocal recordings of The Weeknd's singing and a simple drum-kit. Drake speaks on the various challenges he's had to face while he's experienced fame. It's interesting how he hates the expression "I feel you"... just a weird thing to hate... Anyways I'm lovin' the outro to this song. Very Smooth. Pretty good track Drizzy's given us here.
19. Hate Sleepin' Alone- Althought the title looks corny as fuck, the song actually goes. 40 hits us with a very smooth beat.. like it sounds like the type of thing they would play in an aquarium. That's how smooth this bitch is. Drake gives some stories about his struggles with the ladies. At first listen, the chorus sounds like garbage. But it grows on you. I'd go as far to say that the chorus may even be beautiful. Not sure why I fuck with this one so much, but I just do.
20. The Motto (feat. Lil Wayne) - Here's the thing... I would suggest in getting the remix. Cuz Tyga goes THE FUCK OFF! Here's my review for "The Motto (Remix) [feat. Lil Wayne & Tyga)" in case you missed it.

Well. Drake put together quite a project here. I wasn't expecting anything from "Take Care" and Drizzy ended up putting out one of the better albums of this year. There was only two songs I skipped through (that's good for me, because I'm ridiculously picky with music). Sure, it has it's downsides. He sang a little too much (but nothing that hurts the album in a huge way). Maybe he coulda gotten rid of that "Shot for Me" track or added a rapped verse to "The Real Her." But don't get me wrong, I'm not a complete hater of Drake singing. He did a hell of a job with Marvins Room or the Stevie Wonder track. I think the thing that bugs me most about his singing, is when he interrupts the flow to one of his raps to sing one line. It just kills the mood.
My only other issue was Drake's subject matter, and this problem didn't come into play too often. But when it did, he tended to rap about the same damn two things: bitches and fame. And it wasn't even about how much fame or ass he got. It was how much he struggled with fame or how hard it was to be committed when you're a celebrity. I don't know.. I just can't feel bad for him when he spits about that shit. Drake, no one is gonna be able to "feel you" on those issues. No one else has to go through that. Just spit about your childhood or do some storytelling like you did on "The Ride" or "Look What You've Done." Now THAT would make this album perfect.
And to close off, I'm gonna be the first to make the inevitable comparisons between this album and his debut, "Thank Me Later." This album actually had a lot more solo songs on it (which is nice because in this day and age, artists tend to have a ton of features on their albums). And the solo songs on "Take Care" were wayyy better than the ones on TML. So clearly Drake's a lot better at holding his own. As for his lyrics, I thought his subject matter was better on TML but there weren't any standouts on TML. "Take Care" had quite a few tracks with "ehhh" subject matter but then there were also some really fantastic lyrical tracks. So TC's ups were better than TML's. As for the beats.. TC shitted on TML. 40 and T-Minus served as perfect accusations for Drizzy as they cooked up some dope, Southern influenced beats. Also, TC flowed more as album than TML. TML felt like a bunch of singles just sorta pushed together.
So in conclusion, was TC better than TML? Well, TC was a lot darker than TML. And I personally like dark sounds and albums. But the better beats, more cohesive feel, solo tracks, and standout tracks all help TC solidify it's place as Drake's best album. In fact, "Take Care" is easily in my top 10 albums of this year, because of it's large amount of musicality. Congrats Drizzy, you took me by surprise.

Wale: Ambition

This was easily one of my most anticipated albums of this year. He created a great buzz for himself after that "More About Nothing" mixtape. I've been a huge fan of the guy since "Nike Boots" first dropped. After his first album was mediocre, I've been waiting for him to put out some incredible shit. And I can safely say he did it on this album. As with most CDs this year, Ambition grows on you. Update: Brought this back to the top.. well for no reason. It's just a good album ahah I don't want people sleepin' on it.

Tracklist:

1. Don’t Hold Your Applause [Prod. Tone P] - Very typical Wale sound.. which is good for an intro. It shows that he hasn't lost his old sound. But his verses show serious development. You can tell he's taking that potential from "Attention Defecit" and turning it into something great. He remembers when he was on the front cover of the GQ magazine with Cudi and Drake. Nice track to start with.
2. Double M Genius [Prod. Mark Henry] - Very DMV sounding track here. It's got an old school beat that coulda been on a soap opera or something. "Loud smoker, so pass the L like a semi colon." Ahah classic creative punchline from Wale. His flow seems to be on fire in this albums so far. The hook is iffy, but his lyrics are dope here nonetheless.
3. Miami Nights [Prod. Mark Henry]
4. Legendary [Prod. Toomp] - The moment this beat drops you just say "ohhh shit this one's gonna be epic." I mean forreal, Toomp cooks up a real slapper here. "Only fear is mediocrity, every time I got a beat I feel like I don't gotta sleep, you keep praying on your break, I hope you got a sling, shot for all them shots coming out them beaks, sort of like Socrates in a prada tee, you can't kick it, your pockets thinner than soccer teams." Yep.. Wale went in over this dope beat. I can safely say that his fear of mediocrity shouldn't be a big problem. Wale hasn't sold out at all on this album.
5. Lotus Flower Bomb (feat. Miguel) [Prod. Jerrin Howard]-Review for this song
6. Chain Music [Prod. Tone P] - One of the dope club songs from the "Eleven On Eleven Theory" tape. This song is ridiculously deep. It sounds like a song about riches, but it's actually about how people tend to treat him differently just because he's signed with a major label. It's deep and it's a great radio hit!
7. Focused (feat. Kid Cudi) [Prod. Kore] - Review for this song
8. Sabotage (feat. Lloyd) [Prod. Cloud Eater] - This one is a lot softer, but I like it. This is clearly for the ladies. The guitar driven beat is pretty nice and I love the way it switches up at the chorus into really complete bandstand sounds. Lloyd's chorus is gorgeous. Wale talks about various stories and makes some great points: "people want you single every time you got a spouce." Not gonna lie, even on a track for love, he gives an awesome flow and some very nice punchlines. "Sabotage all the time, Avatar, blue balls." Ahah he's got some really funny punchlines on this album. Very fun song. It grows on you. Oh and the outro is fucking gorgeous. "I need some motherfucking cough drops" describes this song perfectly. Wale sounds raspy as fuck!
9. White Linen (Coolin’) (feat. Ne-Yo) [Prod. Deputy] - This one is gonna have to grow on me. The beat is kinda forgettable, but it builds. Wale does some decent lyrics. I don't love Ne-Yo's chorus. Overall it's a very summery, Caribbean track.. and it's a little late for that. But if this is one of the weaker tracks, then this album is dope. Cuz Wale's lyrically on point.
10. Slight Work (feat. Big Sean) [Prod. Diplo] - This one was reallyyy anticipated. Unfortunately, the beat is a little too basic for some peoples' liking. I actually like it, because it makes the listener focus on the lyrics. Wale does a really different and choppy flow that works well with the bouncy beat. Big Sean comes in and does a solid guest verse. It's a nice cut. The only thing I dislike are the cop car noises. When I listen to this song in the car, I'm gonna think I'm gettin pulled over ahah.
11. Ambition (feat. Meek Mill & Rick Ross) [Prod. T-Minus] - T-Minus returns after a lackluster Drake beat (what's up with dope producers making shitty beats for Drizzy?). The intro starts off slow and mellow as Meek speaks about his childhood (as always ahah). Mill sets as the perfect intro as the beat drops. It's got that typical T-Minus drum beat with some nice piano. The chorus is dopeee and simple. Then Ross comes in and gives it that aggression it needs. Wale finishes it off.. and gives the best verse of the three. The beat switches up a bit as a different piano line comes in with dope bars: "But every n*gga who can read gotta get his issue, subscribe, n*ggas reside where all the lions and killers be, and I ain't spend a minute up in the streets, but I’m limitless mentally, I’m lyrically MC, Lebron shit, I was in that 6 after 23." This beat is sooo amazing, and these three are seriously the perfect team. By far my Favorite Song!!!
12. Illest Bitch [Prod. Tha Bizness] - Tha Bizness cooks up a nice guitar driven beat. Wale spits some real uplifting shit hear for the ladies. This has got to be one of the best messages of the year on a song. Mad respect for him on this. Don't really get the idea of uplifting females by calling them the illest bitches.. but whatever. I get the idea. The first verse he shows admiration for his lady for the work she does for him. The second one he does some storytelling. "Baby father bullshittin', you two don't even speak, ain't seen his seed in 14 days, that n*gga too week, couple shy of a month, I ain't runnin' you up, when it be too loose or you be too late, we ain't tyin' no knot."
13. No Days Off [Prod. Toomp] - Another hardhitting Toomp beat. Wale spits here: "Higher than high school Mariah tunes and fire flutes on fights and hoopers in light shoes." He does a very epic chorus over this slow but powerful beat. It's a ending.
14. DC or Nothing [Prod. Tone P] - Tone P cooks up one of his better beats. It's mostly guitars, but it's got some cool violin breakdowns. On the second verse it has a brief piano breakdown, too. Ambition has had some really good beats. Anyways, the guy on this chorus does an excellent job. It sounds a bit overdone, but it fits with the complex beat. Oh and not to forget, Wale (the star of the show aha). Wale speaks some real deep shit about death: "Caught up and slipping for fearing a McDonald’s position, seen it over a dollar, got him under a flower, funeral drama, n*ggas mystery baby mamas, they ain’t really for condoms, I just think that it’s shocking, got no fear in no officer, they be scared of them doctors, I’m aware that there’s problems, know Obama gon’ stop it, where there’s minimal conscious and there’s thousands of choppers, I know Howard that college, but that town has some problems, I done seen embalming fluid ruin a n*gga promise." In that 16, he talks about how husbands will kill themselves because their lady is pregnant, about how death ruins potential, and about how Obama's gonna fix the "death" of the economy. One of the more political songs on the album. In case you didn't know, Wale references politics a lot. This album is really turning out to be the complete project.
15. That Way (feat. Jeremih & Rick Ross) [Prod. Lex Luger] - You've probably heard this song. Lex Luger switched it up a lot for this one. And Jeremih does the smoothest hook of this year. I've talked about this one before so I won't talk much here. Basically, it's Wale spittin' classy, lyrical excellence over some smooth lounge music. Even though it's a little old, it's my Favorite Song!!! on this album... and maybe of this year.
16. Bait [Prod. Tone P] - What better way then to end with a DMV club hit. This one's been gettin' some serious buzz. I'm happy he included it as a bonus (I wish he had included "Tats on My Arm" also). I love the guitar addition at the end. And the slowed down interlude at the middle of the song is dope also. "Girl stop being fallacious, this Mercedes is spacious, black and white through the city guess this is gentrification, that fire flow the finest women I adore, I'm cool with all these broads in here but I do not date Lucaya hoes"... only Wale would flex his excellent vocabulary on a club track. Overall, it's a great up beat bonus.

As I said before, the album grows on you. Give it two listens before you decide. It's got some great chapters to it. And it covers every part of his career. He's got some throw back songs (like that first song, Don't Hold Your Applause) that remind you of the Wale from back in the day, some new posse cuts with MMG (Ambition), and some songs you would never expect Wale to make (Sabotage). He's proved his versatility while maintaining his dope lyrics, content, flow, and style. Two things can be sure after hearing Ambition.
One: MMG was a great choice for Wale. He turned his career around. With better features and beats, Wale really put it together. It took some months of bad music, but he came around with an amazing album. If you think that the singing helped him, then listen to "Focused." The old Wale never woulda made a song like that. But this song is quite honestly one of his better songs. Wale made the right moves.
Two: Wale didn't sell out. He still showed the hunger that he possessed when he first got on that XXL cover. He made music to rep his hometown and didn't ignore his roots. A lot of his stuff on the album sounded like stuff from his tapes.. but it was more developed. If anything, I'd say Wale has improved.
"Ambition" marks the comeback of the year. It's easily in my list of favorite albums this year. In the last two months, this is the best album I've heard (it's better than Cole World). Both Wale and I hyped this album up for a reason.. it was the best piece of music this year.

No idea who they are... but they killed this Company Flow instrumental. Apparently they're from Queens. I'll be sure to post more of their shit.

ASAP Rocky: LiveLoveA$AP

ASAP's been getting a lot of attention on the blogs (as I expected) and this tape was one of the most anticipated of the week (which is impressive considering it's his first tape). He gives us his very chill/stoner sound and I think it goes over very well. I usually have one chilled out rapper I listen to on repeat (Wiz, Curren$y, and Kid Cudi all took that spot at some point) and it's looking like ASAP's gonna be my latest! Update!: Thought I'd review a few more songs.

Tracklist:
  1. Palace [Prod. Clams Casino] - Very cinematic beat from Casino Clams. ASAP Rocky spits on where he got his roots from. He switches his flow up at the end into something a little more speedy. For some reason, I like his slow and choppy flow (unlike 2 Chainz). "God damn, how real is this?" is a veryyy catchy chorus ahah.
  2. Peso [Prod. ASAP Ty Beats] - One of the more well known songs from ASAP. This one's got a really dope, echo-y beat from Ty Beats. The Chorus has got a dope chopped and screwed reggae sample. And whoever the singer was.. well they have a dope voice. Great song.
  3. Bass [Prod. Clams Casino]
  4. Wassup [Prod. Clams Casino] - Even more relaxed beat from Casino Clams. I wanna know where they got that vocal sample from, cuz he flipped it hella well. The chorus is ridiculously relaxing. Nice and chill joint here.
  5. Brand New Guy (feat. ScHoolboy Q) [Prod. Lyle] - I like this one already because the producer has got my middle name. But anyways, it's a very slow but hard hitting beat. It fits ASAP's flow perfectly. He's not a great rapper, but he gets you hyped and he's the type of dude who's fans learn all his verses. Schoolboy Q (one of my favorites) is extremely nice here. I love the way he speeds up his flow as he goes further in the verse. Dope track.
  6. Purple Swag: Chapter 2 (feat. SpaceghostPurrp & ASAP Nast) [Prod. ASAP Ty Beats]
  7. Get Lit (feat. Fat Tony) [Prod. Soufein3000]
  8. Trilla (feat. ASAP Twelvy & ASAP Nast) [Prod. Beautiful Lou] - Cool beat with a repetitive, but catchy southern guitar beat. The three ASAP's go off here. This group that Rocky is involved with seems to have some serious talent.
  9. Keep It G (feat. Chace Infinite & Spaceghost Purrp) [Prod. Spaceghost Purrp] - This could honestly be the most relaxed track of the year. It makes your body want to turn liquid ahah if that makes sense. ASAP sounds like a simple rapper, but he's definitely got some dope lines here. It's interesting that his style of rapping makes him sound a lot more basic, but he actually spits some tough shit. The chorus is fuckin' gorgeous by the way. Favorite Song!!!
  10. Kissin’ Pink (feat. ASAP Ferg) [Prod. Beautiful Lou] - This sounds like some vintage Outkast. It features on of the many other ASAPs he works with (I can't keep track of them all). The chorus is another sleepy, but catchy chorus. H-Town music right here.
  11. Houston Old Head [Prod. DJ Burn One]
  12. Acid Drip [Prod. Soufein3000]
  13. Leaf (feat. Main Attrakionz) [Prod. Clams Casino] - Very space-like beat here. ASAP starts this track off hot where he speaks about all the shit he's tired of. I feel him on being tired of all the hipsters. When I saw the title I thought it would be a weed song. But it's much deeper than that. It's about all the shit he has to deal with while he becomes a force in the rap game.
  14. Roll One Up [Prod. DJ Burn One]
  15. Demons [Prod. Clams Casino]
  16. Out Of This World [Prod. The Olympicks] {Bonus}

Nipsey Hussle: Rose Clique

I never understood why Nipsey made the XXL Freshmen list back in 2010. But then I heard his mixtape "The Marathon"and I became a fan. He's one of the many upcoming talents from the Westcoast. He reminds me of young Snoop Dogg. Anyways, this one's off his "The Marathon Continues" mixtape. He speaks on his upbringing in the hood of Slauson Ave.
Keep an eye out for this guy. All he needs is one big track for him to blow up.

Drake: The Motto (Remix) [feat. Lil Wayne & Tyga]

This one is apparently a bonus track from "Take Care" (but without Tyga unfortunately). The T-Minus beat is very simple. It's essentially a drumkit with heavy 808's. But I fucks with the simplicity. Drake starts things off by rapping (thank god). If he raps for the majority of "Take Care", I'll be stoked for it. His flow reminds me of his "Uptown" verse (that's a good thing). The lyrics are a little simple but his aggressive delivery is dope. And I fucks with that flow at the end. Plus a shoutout to the bay never hurts! Then Wayne comes in and tears it up. At first, his lyrics sound kind of iffy. But he actually has some dope punchlines: "Wish a n*gga would, like a tree in this bitch." That "I tongue kiss her other tongue, skeet skeet skeet: water gun" was hilarious. But I couldn't stand that ending "Oh my God, Becky, look at her butt! Tunechi." Really dude? You're gonna quote Sir Mix a Lot? Anyways, the final verse is from Tyga... And his goes the hardest out of all of them. His flow is AMAZING. T-raw has improved his flow sooo much in the last few years. And his voice is dope as fuck (as always... Tyga can say anything and it sounds like he's spittin heat aha). Lyrically, he's at his best on this track. He's got some funny punchlines: "let a bitch ride dick, seesaw" or "draw on your face, you's a clown, jack in the box."
In my opinion, Tyga's at his peak right now, but it's too bad that he has no buzz at this point in his career. "Careless World" is gonna be one of the better albums of the year. I can feel it.
But to conclude this rant, Drake's album could be good. I'll LET y'all know how it is when it drops. And BE SURE TO COP Tyga's album when it drops. "Careless World" on December 20th! *tyga voice* haaaa.

The Motto (Remix) [feat. Tyga & Lil Wayne]

Matt Brooks: Me & You

Sippin' on the finest of Italian bottled waters aha.

As some of you may know, I've taken up producing (again). This is my first beat I've made. I took a sample from "First of the Year" by Skrillex and fucked around with it quite a bit. Obviously it's got some dubstep influence aha, but it's a hip-hop beat. Lemme know what y'all think. And gimme tips for what I can work on! There will be more beats to come and I'll post them here. Oh, and hit me up if you're an upcoming rapper and you're trying to get some beats.

Me & You by Matt Brooks 1

Shanell: So Good (feat. Lil Wayne & Drake)

I am in no way or form a Shanell fan. I am, however, a fan of good Cool N Dre beats. Seriously, this joint bangs. They haven't made something this good since "No Ceilings." Dunno where they got that sample from but they flipped it perfectly. Shanell essentially just sings the hook. Wayne's verse is much better than that last one. "I do it like Nike, I'm psychic, I knew you like it, run up in your ass and then I dash like a hyphen." Then Drizzy comes in and gives a short but decent verse. He spits some knowledge about how all strippers are students.
This one's worth the download. The beat is gorgeous and it's got some sickkk bass. Wayne comes in and actually gives a great verse. And Drake holds it down. But the real hero is Cool N Dre on this one.

So Good (feat. Lil Wayne & Drake)

Trey Songz: Don't Love Me (feat. Lil Wayne)

This one is off Trigga's "#Lemmeholddatbeat2" rap mixtape. Not gonna lie.. he's decent on the mic. He's got a dope rap voice. And you already know that Songz is a talented singer. Wayne starts off well: "That hoe want that pickle, but everything's kosher." But then he ends with some corny shit: "kisses and hugs, I fall off my skateboard but I never fall in love"... Weezy... you takin' advice from Drake or something? That's one of the most bitchmade things you have ever said. Honestly the dude's fallin off, I hate to say it. He's still lyrically good, but I can't stand another corny love line. C'mon son.

Don't Love Me (feat. Lil Wayne)

Pusha T: Changing Of the Gaurds (feat. Diddy)

This one is off Push's "Fear of God II".. which is essentially his "Fear of God" mixtape with a few new tracks. This one is one of those new songs. Diddy does pretty much nothing (thank god!) except pull a DJ Khaled and yell at the beginning. The beat drops and it's epic. Those horns and synths go hard. Rico Beats did his thing. Pusha spits on his past as a coke dealer and his present wealth full of bitches. Don't get me wrong, Pusha T is a great rapper.. but he needs to switch his subject matter up. Regardless, the track slaps.

Changing of the Gaurds (feat. Diddy)

Birdman & Mack Maine: Mr. Lottery (feat. Short Dawg & Jae Millz)

This one is off their "Billionaire Minds mixtape." The song is produced by T-Minus (who is on fire lately). T-Minus is moving into my top favorite producers.. his sound is EPIC. Anyways, Short Dawg sets things off hot. I wish the dude chose better beats, because he would be one of the better artists on Young Money. He's very slept on. Millz is solid as always. He's a very dependable artist. Millz is perfect for posse cuts because he always gives good verses. He'll never be huge but he will have a decent solo career. Mack Maine (who used to be a favorite of mine) has a nice showing. Birdman... is awful. But I don't expect anything from him. Download this one for the beat and the three solid verses.

Mr. Lottery (feat. Short Dawg & Jae Millz)

Freddie Gibbs: Cold Day In Hell

This is the new mixtape from the Jeezy affiliate Freddie Gibbs. He's a big name in the south so this one is worth keeping an eye out for.

Tracklist:

1. Barely M.A.D.E. It
2. Rob Me A Nigga (feat. Alley Boy)
3. 187 Proof
4. Anything To Survive (feat. Freeway & Sly Polaroid)
5. 2′s & Fews (feat. Young Jeezy)
6. Gotta Let Ya Nuts Hang (feat. Scrilla)
- Grimy song title here haha. Arkatech is on the beat on this one. Freddie shows his typrical short, but deep lines such as: "doin' wrong is my rite of passage." Skrilla (his labelmate) shows a nice flow here. #Trapmuzik right here. Favorite Song!!!
7. Let ‘Em Burn - The Olympics cooks up a very bouncy beat for this track. This is a lot more mainstream and upbeat than the usual Gibbs song, but he keeps it southern and adapts well. Gibbs flows his ass off on that second verse
8. B.A.N.ned - Freddie has a series of nice songs in a row. He and Cardo are actually a perfect match. Cardo's simplistic beats match perfectly with Gibbs's aggressive flow. Really feelin' this track. Gibbs is really keepin' it trill on this beat.
9. My Homeboy’s Girlfriend
10. PSA 2 (Pussy So Amazin)
11. Natural High
12. Str8 Slammin (feat. Juicy J)
13. Menace II Society (feat. Dom Kennedy)
14. Neighborhood Hoes (feat. 2 Chainz) - Not gonna lie, 2 Chainz outperformed Gibbs here. Probably the best verse I've ever heard from 2 Chainz. He does something different with his voice that actually makes him interesting to listen to. He also speeds up his flow which helps. My only flaw with Freddie is that he can get monotone and boring. And he's both on this track. The beat is dope though and that featured verse makes up for Gibbs's lack of energy. Oh, and Gibbs does a lyrically great verse by the way aha!
15. Heaven Can Wait
16. My Dogz

Tyrese: I'm Home (feat. Jay Rock)

This Tyrese dude is aight. He's one of the few R&B artists I can listen to as of lately. I really liked that "I Gotta Chick" song (the one with Tyga). The beat has a really relaxed but deep feel to it. I like how he switches octaves with ease on the chorus. Jay Rock does his usual above verse here. Can't really hate the dude, but also can't love him. Overall, the song is a nice track for the whip.

I'm Home (feat. Jay Rock)

L.E.P. Bogus Boys: 25th Hour

This one is perfect for Halloween. My favorite producers of all time, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, cooks up a really creepy beat here. The repetitive organ and hardcore guitar make this track knock! LEP Bogus Boys are pretty good in my opinion. Don't know why they are sooo big right now. They sound like a lot of other southern groups out right now, but they have a really good amount of energy. Download it for the JUSTICE League beat at the least thought!

25th Hour

Short Dawg: Two White Cups (feat. Gudda Gudda)

New track from Short's Halloween themed tape. Da Engineers flip a Drake line and chop it up for a dope sample. Short Dawg uses an impressive flow. I wish I liked his sound more, because he's a dope emcee. But the beats on this tape were too southern for me. Regardless, this ones goes hard. Oh and Gudda is forgettable (as always).

Two White Cups (feat. Gudda Gudda)

Jim Jones: Genocide (feat. Sen City)

Another song being posted for the Jahlil Beats instrumental. He's on fire as of lately. Jim Jones is... ehh. But the beat is really smooth here. I think that Jahlil is branching out and switching it up. He's improving a lot in my opinion. Jay-Z made a smart move by signing him.

Genocide (feat. Sen City)

Lil Chuckee: What I'm Doin' (feat. Diamond & Darnell Robinson)

I never thought that I would like Chuckee. But now that his voice is developing, he's a lot more bearable. He's improved his flow a lot. The beat sounds like a Boi-!da beat, but I'm sure it's someone else. Darnell Robinson spits a Roscoe Dash-esque chorus. I like it though, it's very catchy. Diamond is shitty, but her verse is over quickly! Keep an eye out for Chuckee.

What I'm Doin' (feat. Diamond & Darnell Robinson)

Dorrough: What You Wanna Bet

Jahlil Beats... that's why this is here. This one's off Dorrough's "Silent Assassin." He's a ridiculously average emcee. The only reason you would download the tape is for the DOPE beats.

What You Wanna Bet

Immortal Technique: Goonies Never Die (feat. Diabolic, Swave Sevah, Gomez) & Mark of the Beast (feat. Akir, Beast 1333)

These two are off his new mixtape "The Martyr." Haven't heard anything new from him since his last album "Revolutionary 3." It's not as political as his usual stuff, but it's got his dope violent raps.

Goonies Never Die:

This beat maybe be one of the doper things I've heard in a while. These symphony sounding tracks area always entertaining. The intro to this song is dope as he pretends to be talking to his nephew about his struggle life. "Leaving bullets the size of Matzah balls." Aha classic odd metaphor from Immortal! Diabolic also does his thing.

Goonies Never Die

Mark of the Beast:

The beat is dope on this one. It sounds like some old beat Jadakiss would rap on. That Akir guy flexes a reallyyy nice flow. Then Beast 1333 continues the fast raps with some crazy bars. Then Immortal comes in and tears shit up: "I'm like the mind of a genius trapped in a Cerebal Paulsic, you underestimate the hood, you think niggas is stupid, we read the country's credits, niggas know who produced it, why the fuck you think they're pushing military recruitments?" I guess he does get a little political on this tape...

Mark of the Beast

Young Chris: Triple Threat (feat. Fred The Godson & Vado)

This one is from Young Chris's mixtape with Cardiak beats called "The Revival." It's funny, I only like Fred's verses when he's featured on songs. That gives him something in common with Meek Mill! (another guy I can only listen to for one verse). Young Chris gives his dope flow (which many people say was "borrowed" by Jay-Z... proof that Jigga is a swagga jacker). Vado is aight. I can only enjoy him on Araab Muzik beats. Dope sample on this beat. Nice job Cardiak!

Triple Threat (feat. Fred The Godson & Vado)

Red Cafe: Let It Go (feat. Diddy)

Diddy needs to shut the fuck up. Posting this one for that dope Jahlil Beats instrumental (he just got signed to Roc Nation!). Red Cafe isn't usually that good, but he sounds dope over a Jahlil Beats sounds. Nice and quick slapper for ya!

Let It Go (feat. Diddy)

Willie The Kid: The Guilt

Willie stays on that puttin' out music hype! This one is off his mixtape "The Cure 2." It's a typical Willie track, with a relaxed sample. The beat was produced by Bronze Nazareth (no idea who that is ahaha). Willie does some dope storytellin'. Not gonna tell you what it's about though.. don't wanna give it away! Tell me Willie the Kid isn't one of the dopest underground rappers in the game with that dope rap voice and choppy flow.

The Guilt

Jedi Mind Tricks: Weapons of Unholy Wrath

First off, Jedi Mind Tricks have been one of my favorite groups since 8th grade. And this is that classic sound they tend to give. There music always sounds like it could be in the soundtrack of medieval action movie aha. Vinnie Paz goes off (and finishes with that dope bratt bratt): "You don’t fight, you ducking fights, you Mayweather, anyway you wanna put it butcher, slay, sever, you looking like Eddie in Delirious, gay leather." Jedi Mind Tricks hits us with that epic warlike music as always..

Weapon of Unholy Wrath

Freeway: Superstar (feat. Meek Mill)

Honestly I'm posting this one for that Meek Mill verse. I'm becoming quite a fan of that young man. He sounds dope over these hard hitting beats. Freeway's also switching lanes to these more mainstream beats. He fits well over the hardhitting and loud drum kit driven tracks. For real though.. Meek flows his ass off on this one.

Superstar (feat. Meek Mill)

Pusha T: What Dreams Are Made Of

New song from Pusha's upcoming EP "Fear of God: Let Us Pray." The beat is from Helinski, and it's a nice sound but the loop grows tiring. Pusha flexes some dope lyrics here about the coke life. Overall, it's a very typcial Pusha T song but it goes. The EP should be pretty good, Pusha Ton is always a pretty reliable guy. "Hip Hop bores me, hustlers applaud me"... swag.

Araab Muzik: A Brief Overview

This time I'm covering the Dipset affiliated producer, Araab Muzik. Araab created a buzz for himself by solidifying the title as fastest on the MPC. The guys incredibly fun to watch when he makes beats (see his A Milli Remake). He tends to have incredibly energetic beats that make any rapper sound ten times better. But the best thing of all about his style, is that you can just picture him banging away on his MPC when you hear one of his beats. When you hear that trademark Araab Muzik scream.. you know the beat is gonna knock. Give this shit a download and Araab Muzik a chance. *womans voice* "You are now listening to Araab Muzik"

Tracklist:

1. Fabolous: 2 The Money (feat. Broadway) - This beat was originally on Araab Muzik's instrumental album called "Electronic Dream" and it was called "Golden Touch." The beat is fucking sick with that "Right in the Night (Favretto & Battini Remix)" sample. Honestly hip-hop + trance may actually be a great idea. Araab could have created his own genre here. Broadway sucks at rapping but his chorus is fucking ill. Fabolous does his thing here.
2. Cam'Ron & Vado: American Greed - This has got a real Army of the Pharoahs feel to this beat. As you can tell, Araab does a majority of his work with these two. I don't think that either Cam'Ron or Vado goes that hard on the mic. But their monotone voices actually work extremely well on Araab's energetic beats.
3. Cam'Ron & Vado: Heat In Here - This is probably my favorite Araab beat of all time. It's sooo upbeat and when that speedy drumline drops.. it just pumps you up. Araab picks the coolest samples I swear. This one is "Suspiria by Dario Argento." You can just picturing him taping away with this ill sample. GREAT track.
4. Cam'Ron & Vado: Nuthin Like Araab Muzik - One of the many Araab beats from "Boss Of all Bosses 2." Not gonna lie, Vado actually went off "All black bangin', strap hat slanted, Polo high boots un-buckled, strap hangin, laces on the floor, table full stacks layin', I'm 20 sumthin , still young money Mack Maine-in'!" Araab gets a Latin sample here: "Tu CariƱo Se Me Va by Buddy Richard".. Who woulda known?
5. Araab Muzik: Underground Stream - Another one from that "Electronic Dream" album. The sample is "Nosferatu - Underground Stream." UP AND COMING RAPPERS.. used this!!! Someone needs to kill this beat urgently!!! This is the best beat on that whole album.
6. Jim Jones: Drops Is Out (feat. Raekwon, Mel Matrix & Sen City) - Raekwon + Araab Muzik = dream come true. Seriously, rappers needa get their shit together and start fuckin' with this dude. I know ASAP Rocky is doin' some work with him so that's gonna be dope. But for real, I needa hear Tyga, Ace Hood, or someone like that goin' in on an Araab beat. Anyways, this beat is a lot more slowed down than his usual tracks. But it goes to show you that Araab is versatile and can work with any artist, mainstream or underground.
7. Cam'Ron & Vado: Bezel Up - Araab seems to love sampling European dance music. The sample here is "How Much is the Fish by Scooter." This one's pretty good. I think that Cam'Ron & Vado aren't the perfect match for this track but it's still good music.
8. Cam'Ron: They Holla Ayo (feat. Young Dro) - Apparently the sample is from the Beuwolf soundtrack and it's called "Main Theme". That's crazy.. I don't even know how Araab finds all of these samples. Young Dro (who kind of fell of that planet) gets through with some awkward verses. Cam'Ron sounds epic on this beat. He's a perfect fit for the beat.
9. Cam'Ron & Vado: Like Sheeeeit (feat. LA the Darkman) - LA the Darkman is the brother of Willie the Kid so therefor he's dope in my books. I was stoked to hear him on a track with Araab. The flutes are fuckin' awesome and he really makes a great bassline. I was laughing at that Yogi bear line aha. But L.A.D. has sick lines: "Give em a little credit, which turns to debit, if not, then shoot em like J.J. Redick."
10. Cam'Ron & Vado: House Of Harlem (feat. Jaz) - This one is some mobbin' music. That Jaz chick is pretty ehh aha. But Cam and Vado sound good here. The horns are reallyy dope here I wish I knew the sample.
11. Cam'Ron & Vado: Brick Breakers This ones a little slower paced than the average Araab beat. Regardless, it's nice. Vado's slow flow is a perfect match for this one. Don't know the sample. You gotta love this line cuz it's corny but dope "No Blackberry, but we brick breakin."
13. Ya Boy: On Me - The bay area upstart actually did a little work with Araab. This was one of the ones they made. I'm surprised, because I never would have expected a bay area artist to work on beats that sound so... New York aha. But Ya Boy (who's really gettin' some buzz on the web) flexed on this organ driven track. I give Araab props for making the beat a lott more westcoast for Ya Boy. You can tell this one's a bit of a different lane for Araab Muzik. I love the chorus on this one.
14. Royce Da 5'9": Lyrical Hitman (feat. Marvwon) - Dream. Come. True. Royce Da 5'9" is easily one of my favorite rappers out. And Araab cooked up a crazy beat. It's got sickk harm lines, dope interview samples about Richard Kuklinski, and those sick upbeat drumlines. Royce went off: "I'm the opposite of Rev Run" on twitter, I'm a dead wrong, headstrong spitter, compared to me you a faggot gettin' fed bone nigga" or "You a snitch, that like to sing the Fed's songs nigga, oops, I forgot my meds, you the absent minded, when they find ya' body it's gonna be without ya' head." Royce is one of the best in the game. And Araab is one of the best producers in the game. You CAN'T dislike this one.
15. Cam'Ron: Always Made It - Another dope chopped up sample here. This one is courtesy of "Triumvirat - (Oh I'm) Late Again." Araab's 808's are reallyyy good on this one. They thump a lot more than usual.
16. A-Mafia: Cuffin' - This beat was originally on Araab's "How To Be An Emcee: Instrumental Kings 5." Dipset affiliate A-Mafia thought he would take it for a spin. The sample is "Eezy Money- Bass Up Loud"
17. Araab Muzik: Electronic Dreams (feat. Hood B) - This was originally on that "Electronic Dream" album. I just kinda surfed through youtube to see if anyone had rapped this track. Hood B was my favorite. At times he has kind of a early Eminem flow. He was pretty good. The sample is "Oceanlab (Above & Beyond) [feat. Justine Suissa]." For real.. this trance/hip-hop thing is awesome.
18. Araab Muzik: Lost In a Maze (feat. Rich Hart) - Same case here.. just kinda surfed across youtube find a freestyle over this beat. Unfortunately.. Hart's mic, voice, flow, or something just isn't right.. so it doesn't sound that great. I love how he helped the sample "Hiver & Hammer - Five Million Miles (feat. Javah)" sound a lot faster and more energetic by adding those speedy cymbals and snares.

Araab Muzik: A Brief Overview

Slept On Volume 3

Here's just a few more tracks from my little weekend discovery period. Let's get it.

Tracklist:

1. Charles Hamilton: Stay On Your Level - Once upon a time, CH has as much buzz as Drake (during the So Far Gone era). Then he kinda fell apart and went to rehab. He just made his return to the game with "C.A.T.S. Can." The tape made me remember the old Charles and went back and listened to quite a bit of his HUGE mixtape collection. This one was one of my favorites. It's produced by the great Pete Rock. Charles talks about how he'd like to live that poor life regardless of being signed.
2. Los: I'm On One - This sounds like another "I'm On One" freestyle.. and it is. But this one has got some crazyyy guitar on the background. The little guitar riff makes this fucking song I'm not even kidding. This one's a keeper based on the dope guitar and Los's excellent lines: "Einstein couldn't get straight A's in a class with me." He's talking about his rapper class.. which hopefully means he's on the XXL 2013 list!!!!
3. Ludacris: Still Spittin' - Luda's Cypher on BET was unbearable. And his single he just put out with Gucci was also god-awful. But this song brings me back to the hunger he used to possess. This was on the "The Preview" which was dropped before "Theatre of the Mind" (an album I loved and bought a hard copy of). Anyways, it was dropped right in Luda's prime so you know he goes the fuck off.
4. Wiz Khalifa: Feels Good - This one really belongs here. I think that "Star Power" is one of the most slept on Khalifa tapes. The beat here is soo relaxing. And Wiz actually sings a gorgeous chorus. Not to mention, Wiz really gives some solid lyrics here. This is what I think of when I hear "Taylor Gang Music."
5. Childish Gambino: I Be On That - Ever since he dropped that "Bonfire" single, I've kinda become a big fan of this dude. "Culdesac" is a fucking masterpiece. It's literally one of the strangest pieces of music I've heard. This one's got a really heavy hitting 808-driven beat with some metal guitars. He uses his aggressive flow on this one and then comes out of nowhere with a softly sung chorus. This one reminds me a lot of "Bonfire."
6. Show Tufli: The Life - The track was on Charles's mixtape, but it's all CH's little homie Show Tufli. Show's got quite a bit of a buzz in the underground that he put together while Charles was incarcerated. This one's got a very jazzy beat here. The vocal samples used are absolutely incredible. The song is nice way to put yourself onto Show because he's very good.
7. Charles Hamilton: Pure Imagination - CH gets THE DOPEST samples on his songs (see "Window Media Player." Here he samples Charlie in the Chocolate Factory soundtrack (crazy right?) and does it perfectly. What makes it even better, is that Hamilton puts himself into the shoes of Willy Wonka and talks about how lonely it gets for Willy Wonka. It sounds ridiculous, but he turns a children's story into a song about wanting a lady. It's one of the craziest songs (especially that last verse) so it's worth checkin' out. I hope Charles makes a comeback because he was one of the most creative artists out there.
8. Childish Gambino: So Fly - Yet another one from "Culdesac." This one is probably the most unique song on the tape. The song starts off with him making his own choir by singing over a background of recordings of his own voice. Then when the instruments actually hit, the song completely changes mood. Even though it's just him singing, it's a beautiful piece of music.
9. Slaughterhouse: Move On (Remix) [feat. Iffy] - Slaugherhouse is the best group in the game. You can't say they aren't after seeing that cypher. The only one I could live without is Joell Ortiz. This one's got a beautiful chorus with dope verses where the 4 emcees talk about if they have moved on about their past experiences, failures, and successes. It's an interesting songs because they're a group of misfits that came together and built a buzz that propelled them to Shady's label.
10. Diggy: Super Hero Music (feat. Raekwon) - Diggy is gonna be good in a few years. That's undeniable. His last few singles have been wayy too poppy. But I think he's gonna find his lane and make some great music. He's been getting some big looks (probably because he's Run of RunDMC's son) as you can tell due to the Raekwon verse and Boi-!da beat. His flow is probably his best attribute and he shows it off here. It's really refreshing to hear Rae goin' in over a Boi-!da beat. Those two don't usually tend to work together often.
11. Childish Gambino: Do Ya Like - One more from Donald. Dope Adele sample here. Childish actually sounds amazing when he's singing with that sample. They make a nice duet. He completely switches up his flow here to a more light and bouncy voice. Can't wait till "Camp."
12. Wiz Khalifa: Change Up - Another one from "Star Power." Seriously, there are some classic Khalifa songs on this one. This one's got kind of a "Show and Prove" sounding beat. Wiz speaks on the various hustles in his city.
13. Chamillionaire: Get Up On It - Cham was easily one of the most underrated and hungriest artists a few years ago. He'd drop mixtape after mixtape (see any of the Mixtape Messiahs) and he started picking up some buzz. Then he kinda fell of the map. This "King Koppa" tape basically had a whole bunch of Cham verses. This one is from a Bone Crusha song. Cham
14. Chamillionaire: Perfected The Grind - Another one from "King Koopa." This verse is from a Pimp C song. The beat here is crazyyy. Chamillionaire flows his ass off here and really matches that fast paced synth perfectly.
15. Tity Boi: Feelin' You - Usually, 2 Chainz or whatever the fuck you wanna call him is terrible. But this one he actually speeds up the flow a little bit and it's definitely worth listening to. He's not spitting anything amazing, but it's not ridiculously slow. The beat is really jazzy and that's the real reason you'd download this one. It's amazing for Tity Boi aka 2 Chainz standards.
16. XV: Best Days Of Our Lives (feat. Donnis) - "Zero Heroes" was a great tape. I don't know how I missed this one. The Imogen Heap sample is used perfectly. XV does his typical slightweight (love that expression) corny rhyme schemes "Today’s it God was the I.T. god, flow so vain, that they call them I.V. rhymes." XV needs to blow up. Also, Donnis definitely give a good verse for him. But honestly, the dude's average as fuck usually. I don't know why he made the XXL list.
17. Chamillionaire: Sittin' On Chrome - This one's from Cham's recent tape called "Major Pain." The tape was actually very good and I was hoping it would lead to his comeback. But Chamillionaire gave it no buzz so it didn't really do well. The song's got a very southern feel with the beat and that chorus. Nice track overall.
18. Wiz Khalifa: Gone - "Prince of the City 2" is probably my favorite Wiz tape. Khalifa shows his dope production ear on this one. It's a real banger for the car. The chopped up chorus is a great way to start off. Then Wiz does that flow where he has two vocals: one rapping his lyrics and one singing them. It's already one of my favorite Khalifa songs and I don't know how I didn't already have this song. Moral of the story is.. GIVE "PRINCE OF THE CITY 2" A LISTEN!
19. Los: Good Night (feat. Fat Trell & Skarr) - This one was on Los's "Worth the Wait." The beats dope as fuck with that "Electric Light Orchestra Part 2" sample. Fat Trel (the Wale affiliate) starts things off hot. He's not particularly lyrical but he reminds me a lot of Wale. Then the beat switches up for Los's
verse and you know shit's about to go down. Los FUCKING FLOWS. Holy lord the man goes off. "Dismissin the meanest niggas in a minutes time, dispensin the sickest venom from a killers mind, catch a body on the track like a marathon" or "Penetrate her then eliminate her just to get the paper, if Peter Piper picked a pepper than she better pay the piper, if I pipe her I could pimp her or sophisticate her." Honestly with bars like those, tell me how Los isn't the best in the game. I can't wait till "Crown Ain't Safe" drops. Los is showing mad improvement.
20. Willie The Kid: The Winter Coat - This track was on the first of "The Fly" mixtapes. Lee Bannon gives a very typical beat here. Willie the Kid is too fucking overrated.. it's not even fair.
21. Meek Mill: Pledge Allegiance To My Swag - This is some early Meek Mill. I think this is right about when he got out of jail and started working with Jahlil Beats. Jahlil gives one of his typical horn-driven beats with those dope 808's (I seriously need his drum kits because the bass in his beats always goes HAM). Meek holds his own.
22. Yo Gotti: Look In The Mirror (Remix) [feat. Wiz Khalifa, J. Cole & Wale] - Yes.. that lineup is legit. I'm not even gonna say much about this one. Wale and J. Cole are the hottest in the game right now so you already know they went off. And Wiz actually works well on this Shawty Redd track surprisingly, but he tends to sound dope on any beat. Gotti's bearable.
23. Chamillionaire: Southern Boys - One more from the "King Koopa" tape. It's got a beat that sounds like it could be from 300 or something. It's epic. As for Chamillionaire, he gives a really solid and violent flow.
