Game: R.E.D. Album

Last post of the night. Game's long awaited album finally hits stores tonight! Overall I'd say it's pretty solid. Game tends to bite the style of those he features on his songs (which is fine) on this album. It's by no means a classic, but it's a fun album to listen to. You didn't let us down Game. As always, I'm only reviewing the tracks I liked.

1. Dr. Dre Intro
2. The City (feat. Kendrick Lamar)
- DOPE beat courtesy of Cool N Dre. Kendrick's accapella verse at the end is crazy. And Game says some crazy shit (including calling himself the best westcoast rapper). Nice track.
3. Drug Test (Feat. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg & Sly)- I think this could have been a lot better. The beat is a little lackluster, but it's by no means a bad song.
4. Martians Vs. Goblins (feat. Tyler, The Creator & Lil Wayne) - What's not to like about this song? Crazy beat courtesy of 1500 Or Nothin and Mars, with all sorts of guitar riffs. NICE first verse from Game where he name drops Lil B. The hook is a little iffy. But Tyler's verse is ridiculous. I couldn't stop laughing when he poked fun at Game for name dropping too much. BY FAR my Favorite Track!!!
5. Red Nation (feat. Lil Wayne)
6. Dr. Dre 1
7. Good Girls Go Bad (feat. Drake)
- Real old school joint. Just two emcees goin' over a simple, sample based beat. Drake's line about the Ninja Turtles was mad funny.
8. Ricky
9. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
10. Heavy Artillery (feat. Rick Ross & Beanie Sigel)
- Ross's verse sounds like it's a few years old. Very nice StreetRunner beat. Game definitely goes in here.
11. Paramedics (feat. Young Jeezy) - Crazy Maestro beat here. Pretty much a Jeezy track with Game verses on it. Pretty nice!
12. Speakers On Blast (Feat. E-40 & Big Boi)
13. Hello (feat. Lloyd) - This one's a little sappy, but I really liked it. The beat is smooth as fuck and it goes perfectly with Lloyd's soft hook.
14. All The Way Gone (feat. Mario & Wale) - Mario + Wale is a total win for me. The beat is a little boring. But the features on this track are what makes it worth it.
15. Pot Of Gold (feat. Chris Brown) - Some people hated this single. But for me, it worked. Chris Browns hook sounded excellent over the acoustic guitar. And Game was really honest about his career. Honestly, the whole track sounded heartfelt.
16. Dr. Dre 2
17. All I Know (feat. Lu Breeze)
18. Born In The Trap
- You already know how I feel about this track. Definitely his best lyrical gem on the album.
19. Mama Knows (feat. Nelly Furtado)
20. California Dreams
21. Dr. Dre Outro

22. Basic Bitch

The album isn't perfect. But it's got some nice songs. I think Game felt a lot of pressure after having his last three albums go platinum. It's a nice summer album and I think he did pretty well with all of the butchered promotion. Definitely worth coppin' this album. Nice beats, DOPE features, and solid lyrics.
