I never understood why Nipsey made the XXL Freshmen list back in 2010. But then I heard his mixtape "The Marathon"and I became a fan. He's one of the many upcoming talents from the Westcoast. He reminds me of young Snoop Dogg. Anyways, this one's off his "The Marathon Continues" mixtape. He speaks on his upbringing in the hood of Slauson Ave.
Keep an eye out for this guy. All he needs is one big track for him to blow up.
This one is apparently a bonus track from "Take Care" (but without Tyga unfortunately). The T-Minus beat is very simple. It's essentially a drumkit with heavy 808's. But I fucks with the simplicity. Drake starts things off by rapping (thank god). If he raps for the majority of "Take Care", I'll be stoked for it. His flow reminds me of his "Uptown" verse (that's a good thing). The lyrics are a little simple but his aggressive delivery is dope. And I fucks with that flow at the end. Plus a shoutout to the bay never hurts! Then Wayne comes in and tears it up. At first, his lyrics sound kind of iffy. But he actually has some dope punchlines: "Wish a n*gga would, like a tree in this bitch." That "I tongue kiss her other tongue, skeet skeet skeet: water gun" was hilarious. But I couldn't stand that ending "Oh my God, Becky, look at her butt! Tunechi." Really dude? You're gonna quote Sir Mix a Lot? Anyways, the final verse is from Tyga... And his goes the hardest out of all of them. His flow is AMAZING. T-raw has improved his flow sooo much in the last few years. And his voice is dope as fuck (as always... Tyga can say anything and it sounds like he's spittin heat aha). Lyrically, he's at his best on this track. He's got some funny punchlines: "let a bitch ride dick, seesaw" or "draw on your face, you's a clown, jack in the box."
In my opinion, Tyga's at his peak right now, but it's too bad that he has no buzz at this point in his career. "Careless World" is gonna be one of the better albums of the year. I can feel it.
But to conclude this rant, Drake's album could be good. I'll LET y'all know how it is when it drops. And BE SURE TO COP Tyga's album when it drops. "Careless World" on December 20th! *tyga voice* haaaa.

As some of you may know, I've taken up producing (again). This is my first beat I've made. I took a sample from "First of the Year" by Skrillex and fucked around with it quite a bit. Obviously it's got some dubstep influence aha, but it's a hip-hop beat. Lemme know what y'all think. And gimme tips for what I can work on! There will be more beats to come and I'll post them here. Oh, and hit me up if you're an upcoming rapper and you're trying to get some beats.
I am in no way or form a Shanell fan. I am, however, a fan of good Cool N Dre beats. Seriously, this joint bangs. They haven't made something this good since "No Ceilings." Dunno where they got that sample from but they flipped it perfectly. Shanell essentially just sings the hook. Wayne's verse is much better than that last one. "I do it like Nike, I'm psychic, I knew you like it, run up in your ass and then I dash like a hyphen." Then Drizzy comes in and gives a short but decent verse. He spits some knowledge about how all strippers are students.
This one's worth the download. The beat is gorgeous and it's got some sickkk bass. Wayne comes in and actually gives a great verse. And Drake holds it down. But the real hero is Cool N Dre on this one.
This one is off Trigga's "#Lemmeholddatbeat2" rap mixtape. Not gonna lie.. he's decent on the mic. He's got a dope rap voice. And you already know that Songz is a talented singer. Wayne starts off well: "That hoe want that pickle, but everything's kosher." But then he ends with some corny shit: "kisses and hugs, I fall off my skateboard but I never fall in love"... Weezy... you takin' advice from Drake or something? That's one of the most bitchmade things you have ever said. Honestly the dude's fallin off, I hate to say it. He's still lyrically good, but I can't stand another corny love line. C'mon son.
This one is off Push's "Fear of God II".. which is essentially his "Fear of God" mixtape with a few new tracks. This one is one of those new songs. Diddy does pretty much nothing (thank god!) except pull a DJ Khaled and yell at the beginning. The beat drops and it's epic. Those horns and synths go hard. Rico Beats did his thing. Pusha spits on his past as a coke dealer and his present wealth full of bitches. Don't get me wrong, Pusha T is a great rapper.. but he needs to switch his subject matter up. Regardless, the track slaps.
This one is off their "Billionaire Minds mixtape." The song is produced by T-Minus (who is on fire lately). T-Minus is moving into my top favorite producers.. his sound is EPIC. Anyways, Short Dawg sets things off hot. I wish the dude chose better beats, because he would be one of the better artists on Young Money. He's very slept on. Millz is solid as always. He's a very dependable artist. Millz is perfect for posse cuts because he always gives good verses. He'll never be huge but he will have a decent solo career. Mack Maine (who used to be a favorite of mine) has a nice showing. Birdman... is awful. But I don't expect anything from him. Download this one for the beat and the three solid verses.
