Chevy Woods: The Cookout

This has been getting some serious hate. I'm not sure why. The beats here are AMAZING. Chevy is a very good emcee, and the tape is littered with Khalifa features. For real, people have been asking "where is Wiz at? He just disappeared after Rolling Papers." But now this tape drops and people are starting this "Wiz fell off" shit.. SMDH! Anyways, this could be one of my favorite projects of the year and it's a huge breakthrough for Chevy because he seems to have finally found his sound. It's not the most lyrical project ever, but then again is Taylor Gang music ever about "great substance." They make music that you can chill, dance to, and enjoy. And this tape allows you to do all three.

Tracklist:

1. Cookout (feat Wiz Khalifa)
- This song leaked a few months ago. ID Labs changed the beat a little big, but otherwise it's the same Taylor Gang anthem! Favorite Song!!!
2. Downfall (feat. Wiz Khalifa) - Chevy speaks on his bitches and his homies. The saxophone is ridiculous on this Trakksounds produced beat. Wiz's flow is amazing here!
3. Napkins (feat. Wiz Khalifa) - Nice little 70's soul sample mixed with that underwater effect. Big Jerm did his thing. Chevy talks about stealin yo bitch! Wiz once again uses his fast flow here. Khalifa seriously flows his ass off on this tape
4. The Cool (feat. Wiz Khalifa) - Really southern beat here with those guitars. Chevy isn't particularly lyrical here, but Khalifa definitely does his thing.
5. Chi-Town - Not the average Cardo beat, considering the usage of instruments that could be used in a ballet ahah. "I kick game like Ronaldo, that's my goal." Right away Chevy starts things off hot. Very relaxing track.
6. Down
7. Crazy (feat. Wiz Khalifa) - Another leak from the album. This one slaps with those heavy 808's and low guitars. Big Jerm at his best once again. Chevy speaks on worrying about losing his sanity with all the fame. Khalifa.. fuckin flows with perfection again! It's verse like this one that puts Wiz in my favorites.
8. Cassette (feat. Wiz Khalifa) - This one sounds like it coulda been found on "Kush & OJ." Big Jerm hits us with another soul sampled hook and essentially the same drumbeat as the last track. Chevy talks about how slept on he is (it's true). Khalifa is a little lazy here, but he gets better as the verse goes on.
9. Aunts n Uncles (feat. Wiz Khalifa) - Chevy apologizes for his faults at the annual Taylor Gang family reunion! Nah but seriously, this is the type of thing you would play if you had a family dinner. Big Jerm on the beat again. Khalifa slows down the flow a lot here. The beat sounds at tiny bit like Asher Roth's "La Di Da"
10. Invitation (feat. Wiz Khalifa) - This beat sounds like it coulda been found on "Late Registration" or some other early Kanye album. Chevy speaks to the Taylor Gang fans and gives them an invitation to live the goodlife with him and Wiz.
11. Head Over Hills
