01. #BitchImTheShit - Excellent start to the tape. Tyga spits an extremely catchy chorus over a very L.A. sounding beat. His voice got even doper (if that's even possible) and he shows he's improved his lyrics here. The overall product of a bumping beat, catchy punchlines, a crazy hook, an excellent rapping voice, and a slick flow is a promising start to the tape.
02. Bitch Bett A Have Money Feat. YG & Kurupt - Very westcoast sounding beat on this one. The bass fucking knockss. And that sample makes a crazy sample. Tyga gives a nice verse with a bouncy flow. YG sounds like he has down syndrome so I wasn't really feeling his verse. Kurupt is average. That dude's old as fuck though, I remember when he was on the Dr. Dre's first album. Anyways, catchy song here.
03. Make It Nasty - Club song right here. I could see this one catching on like "Rack City." This one's strictly for the clubs. If you haven't seen the video.. well uh get on that. I'm not gonna post it in here because it ain't for children. But here's the link: Make It Nasty. For those of you that have, WTF????? I swear, hip hop videos are gonna be straight porn in a year. And that bunny fucking the sex doll? Tyga Tyga's got some weird bestiality or something. Tyga musta had a real fucked up easter bunny taking teeth from under his pillow for him to come up with this aha. Man that video made to make people feel awkward I swear... As my boy Andriy said, "Tyga musta been horny as fuck on this mixtape." Ahahah truth to that. But anyways, the songs dope. Oh and because Gifs are my new thing aha, here's my gif for this one (Imma try to do one for every post):

04. Pop It

05. In This Thang - Weird little instrumental here. Hip hop beats on rarely based around bass guitars in this day and age. With the simple beat, Tyga's able to flow his slow flow and smooth voice. Simple but cool track here.
06. Orgasm - Once again, Tyga sounds like a dude rapping after his first time. This is dirtyy man aha, I can't even imagine the video for this one. Aside from the colorful images of Tyga smashing bitches in his kitchen, Tyga actually has an extremely catchy chorus. And this beat might be my favorite on the tape. It's sooo smooth. I like this one a lot regardless of what it's about. Favorite Song!!!
07. Dancin 4 Dollas
08. Heisman Feat. Honey Cocaine - This one leaked a while ago. Honey Cocaine is... well an Asian chick with braces. Dunno who told her rap but whatever. Tyga does this beat justice with a lower voice than usual. It's tough to say he's below average on tracks like this.
09. Mack Down Feat. Juicy J - The moment I saw Juicy J's name, I knew the beat was gonna be good. Tyga sounds excellent on southern beats I must say. Juicy J gives a solid verse here. Nice track here.
10. Bad Bitches Remix Feat. Gudda Gudda & 2Chainz
11. Get Gnarley - This beat sounds like something Beyonce would sing on ahaha. But Tyga rocks out on this one. I laughed by ass off him using the word "gnarly." This one's a party track for Cali, so we should probably throw a few ragers in the near future to utilize this track *hint hint*.

14. Fuck With U - This beat is fucking odd (along with the rest of the track). And Tyga's singing threw me off. This sounds a cut from Rebirth. Not sure how I feel about this one yet. It's one of those tracks that I will either love or hate in two weeks. It's just incredibly experimental for Tyga. So I guess I give him props for that. But Tyga, stick to hip hop. We already had one person ruin their legacy on your label with a rock album..
15. The Motto Drake Feat. Tyga & Lil Wayne - Review


Tyga's doin a hell of job for giving himself promotion. His single is number 9 on iTunes right now (go out and cop it) and he's running the mixtape game. I don't even consider him a part of Young Money because they've done so little for him. But I respect hip hop fans a shitload for recognizing his talent and making him famous. T-Raw's gonna put one of the best albums of 2012 out (up there with Big K.R.I.T.), I can just feel it. Why? Well this mixtape is all the proof you need. He's matured every part of his sound. So go ahead and talks shit about Tyga because he's on a rap label consisting of Gudda Gudda & T-Streets... But Tyga's got talent. This tape is basically all clubbing music, but it's gonna get him buzz. All the songs are catchy and he shows his wide variety of skills. "Bitch I'm the Shit" is one of the best tapes I've heard this year.

Los: The Crown Ain't Safe

Baltimore's very own hits us with his latest tape. The dude's been gettin' some real buzz and he's proven he's got some talent so let's see how he does.

1. Make You Fly feat Jazze Pha (Prod by Lifted)
2. Living My Dreams (Prod by Mike Cash) - Los spits some motivational shit here about doing your thing. Mike Cash gives a piano oriented track with some real nice drums. The DMV representative definitely shows that he's got some slick lyrics here. And he flexes his flawless double timing at the end. 
3. King Los feat Lola Monroe (Prod by J Feddy) - Solid beat here. Los gives an excellent flow as he spits dizzying rhymes about gettin' money and pullin' bitches. Lola Monroe, another recent signee to Taylor Gang, is quite impressive here. She's one of the better female rappers I've heard in a while. 
4. Money Loud (Prod by Jahlil Beats) - Jahlil Beats laces us with a pretty average beat (for him) here. Los spits a semi slow flow here. This one's a banger, but I expected it to be better. Solid effort here.
5. Stroke Of Genius (Prod by Mike Cash) - Weirddd beat here ahaha. Los' lyrics from :56- 1:04 are dopeee. This is one has got some of his better lyrics. And that hook is fucking funny and incredibly raw at the same time. After hearing this one.. it's tough to deny this dude's talent.
6. 2 Vs 1 (Prod by The Young Boyz) - Simple track. Los speaks to the bitches here. This is a real westcoast beat (which is odd because he's from the westcoast).
7. Wait For It (Prod by Jazze Pha)
8. Biggest Fan feat Sean Hayz & Kid Ink (Prod by TheOnly4Point0) - This instrumental here is crazyyy. The way they flipped that choir sample was impressive. And that chorus is ridiculously catchy. The guy who sings it doesn't even have that great of a voice, but it works. Kid Ink (who has ben growing on me) gives a good verse (for him). He's not ridiculously lyrical, but he's got a cool voice and delivery. Los' first verse is solid. The entire idea of them (being the famous rappers) following the groupies like their number one fans is a very creative idea for a give back to their fans.
9. What’s Good (Prod by Battleroy) - This is a veryyy J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League-esque beat. The orchestra feel mixed with the hype-beast guitars and drums is gorgeous. Los spits a catchy chorus and has some excellent bars. He definitely lives up to the talent of this beat. Favorite Song!!!
10. Shine feat Phil Ade (Prod by Drum Machine)
11. Finally Here feat Twista (Prod by The Loft) - This one leaked sans Twista a little while back. Twista was a nice addition though. Los proves that he's actually got a nice voice along with dope bars on this one. Nice track.

19. Outro feat Sean Hayz (Prod by Reign) - Los spits about his talent over a very relaxed and slow track. Los' punchlines are on pointt here. Sean Hayes songs a muchhh better chorus compared to his previous effort. Great ending to a great mixtape.

So.. Los does indeed live up to the hype. He proves that he deserves to be one of the hottest up and coming emcees. His beat selection is a little iffy, but that should improve as he gets more famous. I wish he had rapped with a little more substance, but he's making bangers so he can catch some attention. Which is respectable. Keep an eye out for Los. He's on the verge of taking the game by a storm.

02. Drugged Out [Prod. By Lex Luger & Juicy J] - Lex laces us with a banger on this one. Juicy talks about how he sells and deals drugs. Although Lex's producition is a little worse on this tape (compared to Rubbaband Business 1 & 2), he's on point here. Dope start to this tape. Favorite Song!!!

04. Errbody Wave [Prod. By Juicy J]
05. Riley [Prod. By Lex Luger] - A lot of people are feeling this one. I'd say it's pretty good, but not the best. It's gotta real catchy chorus so maybe that's it. Regardless, Lex Luger (which is really the only reason you'd listen to a Juicy J tape) gives us a half-assed beat and it hurts the song a little bit.
06. Big Bank (Feat. Key) [Prod. By Drumma Boy] - I wouldn't have thought that Drumma Boy & Juicy J to be a great collab. But Juicy's simple lyrics actually fit Drumma's extremely complex beat. Oh and that Key guy is pretty good.
07. Get Higher [Prod. By Lex Luger & Young Ced] - This one reminds me of Rubbaband Business. Except one of the more mediocre songs on it. Juicy J has improved his delivery since then, but Lex has lost his originality. Solid track for the whip.

09. Lucky Charm [Prod. By Juicy J & Crazy Mike] - Juicy J's productions are usually a little too slow for me. But he does a hell of a job with those vocal samples. If rapping doesn't work out, Juicy could be quite the producer.

I woulda thought that Sonny Digital woulda used his skills with synths to work with Lex's talent with the drums. But nope. The song switches up halfway through and lemme tell you... the second half is a lott better than the first half. The second half is more of what I expected from these two producers. And it makes up for the ehhh first half.

He puts together an extremely nice smoker track here. The vocal sample is fucking gorgeous. It's a nice change from the rest of the tape. Wiz and Juicy make quite the team. If Harry Fraud starts working with Taylor Gang more.. I will be in heaven.

24. Real Hustler’s Don’t Sleep (Feat. Space Ghost Purp & ASAP Rocky) [Prod. By Big Jerm & ID Labs]
25. Deez Bitches Rollin’ (Feat. Space Ghost Purp & Speakz) [Prod. By Juicy J & Crazy Mike] - Juicy J hits us with another dope beat. The songs got a nice southern feel, especially that chorus. But Spaceghost Purp, who has been catching buzz after his features on the A$AP Rocky mixtape, steals the show here with a nicee double time flow. Keep an eye out for him. He's gonna put out some dope material in the future.

Drake: Take Care

As many of you know, I've gotten a job at atrilli (which is one of the bigger hip-hop blogs on the net), so I won't be posting here much. At this point, I'm gonna be doing only review for dope albums/mixtapes. Anyways, here's the review for Drake's second album, "Take Care."

Tracklist: 

1. Over My Dead Body - Drake starts off the album with a dope piano led beat, with a smooth chorus from the Canadian songstress, Chantal Kreviazuk. Drizzy speaks about his recent successes and about his mistakes in the game. He's very honest here and really gives you a great picture of his life in the game. My only complaint: he's got some sickk bars on that latest verse and then all the sudden he breaks off into some singing bullshit "oh so you think you a funny guyyyy." Really Drake.. you had to sing that bar and ruin your flow? Regardless, the track serves as an amazing intro.

2. Shot For Me - Eh.
3. Headlines - Wasn't ridiculously stoked about this single when it first dropped. But it fits with the album so I've started liking it more. The chorus is... not great. That first verse is good. The second one has got way too much singing. The beat grew on me. At first I hated it. It's probably the most hardcore instrumental on the album.
4. Crew Love (feat. The Weeknd) - This one's more of The Weeknd feat. Drake track but it's whatever... the beat is crazy good (thanks to The Weeknd's in house producer Illangelo). Those loud and fast cymbals switch the pitch soo perfectly. Without them the track woulda been too slow and boring. The Weeknd has got a great voice. Can't deny that, especially after hearing him on this one. Then Drake comes in with one of his better verses on the album, while the beat matches his rhymes with a different drum kit. Expect to hear this one in the clubs.
5. Take Care (feat. Rihanna) - Seems like Drake is lining up all the club songs at the very beginning. Don't expect too much from this one, it's gonna be a radio hit (trust me). Rihanna does a nice little chorus. Then Drake breaks off into song (what did you expect?). The beats a very clubby sound with some nice piano chords. That little interlude at the end of the song is fucking hilarious, with what sounds like two old guys talking ahaha. Anyways, this one's gonna be on replay on 94.9 in a few months.
6. Marvin’s Room - This song is gorgeous. "Marvins Room" is just about the only track with Drake singing that I like. The phone call on the chorus, the "I'm just saying you could do better"... everything about this track is well executed.
7. Buried Alive (Interlude) - Kendrick Lamar actually does this one. And he goes the fuck off. K. Dot lays down the best verse on the whole album.. on an interlude.
8. Under Ground Kings - Cool little tribute song to Pimp C & Bun B. This one is veryy southern. But then again, the whole album has got a more southern and dark sound compared to Drizzy's previous work. T-Minus (who is one of my favorite producers out right now) produces this one. Drake speaks on his struggles of "back in the day."
9. We’ll Be Fine - Another T-Minus produced track. First off, that bass line is dope. It caught my attention right away. I don't think I've ever heard an 808 slidee into the next note in the bass line. That was very creative. Drizzy's a little monotone here, but he's lyrically on point. And don't worry... Birdman doesn't actually have a feature (those of you looking at the album on iTunes and saying "Oh fuck. Drake let him have a guest verse?). All Birdman does is talk for the last minute of the song. I'll put the lyrics up for Birdman's verse (cuz I'm sure many of you will want them): "Yeah, Drizzy, yo turn n*gga, take care of the business n*gga (shine on these n*ggas), give these niggas the business nigga, kill spray anything in the way, n*gga, fuck em! we don't love em, yeah, it's just that uptown gangsta shit, Toronto, stand up, for one of the realest n*ggas, Drizzy, with the realest flow, toast to this gangsta shit, OVO-YMCMB, you understand me?, playing with these motherfucking millions like they ain't nothing, rubber band stacks, that YMCMB shit n*gga, flashy lifestyle, one hundred."
10. Make Me Proud (feat. Nicki Minaj) - Drake is seriously running against Kendrick Lamar for worst choruses on an album in 2011 (Section.80 was dope... but the hooks were god awful). Seriously though, did the guy who put this song together just take one of Drizzy's lines, cut out a part, put it on repeat, and call it a day and use that shit as the chorus? And Nicki Minaj... no comment. But let's get beyond the negativity. The beat was great (thanks T-Minus!), and Drake's flow was ill. I HATED this track when it first dropped. But it grew on me a bit.
11. Lord Knows (feat. Rick Ross) - Just Blaze makes dope beats. That's all I have to say about the music behind the rhymes. Drake gives his best punchlines on this one compared to any other song on "Take Care." He speaks on how he would die for his team and about what his haters and motivators do for him. The beat switches up perfectly for Rozay's verse, and Ross gives a boss-like verse.. typical Ricky.
12. Cameras/Good Ones Go (Interlude) - This has gotta be my favorite beats on the album. When the production credits first leaked, it was said that "Cameras" was co-produced by Lex Luger. Which isn't surprising, considering the fast snare taps and the heavy 808's. The vocal sample is great as well. Drake's verses are pretty good, but they sound lazy as fuckk. Drake's got a tendency to go superr monotone and he falls into that trap here. He also gives yet another shitty chorus. But the track is dope nonetheless. Drake's lyrics + the best beat on "Take Care" = solid track.... Oh and there's another song on this interlude. Uh well... It sucks. Cameras is the only one worth listening to.
13. Doing It Wrong (feat. Stevie Wonder) - Some people have said this one is boring. On first listen.. it is. The beat is gorgeous. Nuff said. It sounds like a church organ or something. I fucks with it. Drake does some singing here, and it's the only track on the album (other than "Marvin's Room") that I can fuck with his singing. But the best part is the last minute of the song. I give Drake hugee props for being really musical and letting a fucking harmonica be a feature on his album. Stevie Wonder has bars at that instrument. It's crazy that Stevie's part actually made this song.
14. The Real Her (feat. Lil Wayne & Andre 3000) - I gave a very negative review to this one earlier this month. The month has got a real southern ballad here. I still hate the singing on this one. I could live with it on two of the tracks. But at this point, he's sang for half the album. And this track wasn't even a good one to sing on (unlike Marvins Room). As I said before, Lil Wayne rocks a nice flow on a very short verse. Now unlike the leaked version, this one comes with a verse from one of the greatest rappers of all time, Andre 3000. Lemme tell you, Andre 3k gives on of the strangest verses I've heard this year... And by strangest, I mean best. Andre speaks on the issues of the female hierarchy, gives references to the Boise State field (crazy right?), and speaks on love. It's verses like these that make Andre 3k deserving of being in the top 10 emcees of all time.
15. Look What You’ve Done - Chase N. Cashe (of Surf Club) cooks up a dope beat here with some cool vocal samples, yet another soft piano line, and a dirty south influence drum beat (I'm telling you, Drake's turning into the next Bun B). Drake gives an extremely emotional verse about his troubles with his own mother, in maintaining income and her health while keeping their family ties. It's one of the realest and most unique verses I've heard in a while. He speaks on some stories of the mischief he got into during his childhood on the second verse. The chorus is very simple but it sounds nice. The song finishes off with a tearjerker of a message from his mother as an outro to the song. The song serves as a great change, considering a lot of his subject matter his been similar on the album. This one's easily the best lyrical song on the album due to Drake's storytelling and truthfulness... and it's my Favorite Song!!!
16. HYFR (Hell Ya Fuckin Right) [feat. Lil Wayne] - Another club song, and a very strange follow up to the last song. T-Minus is on the beat again. I actually don't really like this beat all that much, but it gets you pumped. I can't put my finger on what I don't like about the instrumental. I think (key word: think) that I dislike those synths in the background. They're wayy too whiny. Drake gives his best flow on the album with that first verse. Holy shit, Drake spits fire to start things off. Wayne continues the pattern of speedy rapping and tells a dope sex story. Drake does his thing, but Wayne outshines him by combining a nice flow, crafty punchlines, and an intriguing story.
17. Practice - This one's bad. Drake literally ruined Juvenile's "Back that Azz Up." I'm not doing a review for this shit.
18. The Ride (feat. The Weeknd) - This one was Drake's favorite track on the album. The beats a very simple combination of various vocal recordings of The Weeknd's singing and a simple drum-kit. Drake speaks on the various challenges he's had to face while he's experienced fame. It's interesting how he hates the expression "I feel you"... just a weird thing to hate... Anyways I'm lovin' the outro to this song. Very Smooth. Pretty good track Drizzy's given us here.
19. Hate Sleepin' Alone- Althought the title looks corny as fuck, the song actually goes. 40 hits us with a very smooth beat.. like it sounds like the type of thing they would play in an aquarium. That's how smooth this bitch is. Drake gives some stories about his struggles with the ladies. At first listen, the chorus sounds like garbage. But it grows on you. I'd go as far to say that the chorus may even be beautiful. Not sure why I fuck with this one so much, but I just do.
20. The Motto (feat. Lil Wayne) - Here's the thing... I would suggest in getting the remix. Cuz Tyga goes THE FUCK OFF! Here's my review for "The Motto (Remix) [feat. Lil Wayne & Tyga)" in case you missed it.

Well. Drake put together quite a project here. I wasn't expecting anything from "Take Care" and Drizzy ended up putting out one of the better albums of this year. There was only two songs I skipped through (that's good for me, because I'm ridiculously picky with music). Sure, it has it's downsides. He sang a little too much (but nothing that hurts the album in a huge way). Maybe he coulda gotten rid of that "Shot for Me" track or added a rapped verse to "The Real Her." But don't get me wrong, I'm not a complete hater of Drake singing. He did a hell of a job with Marvins Room or the Stevie Wonder track. I think the thing that bugs me most about his singing, is when he interrupts the flow to one of his raps to sing one line. It just kills the mood.
My only other issue was Drake's subject matter, and this problem didn't come into play too often. But when it did, he tended to rap about the same damn two things: bitches and fame. And it wasn't even about how much fame or ass he got. It was how much he struggled with fame or how hard it was to be committed when you're a celebrity. I don't know.. I just can't feel bad for him when he spits about that shit. Drake, no one is gonna be able to "feel you" on those issues. No one else has to go through that. Just spit about your childhood or do some storytelling like you did on "The Ride" or "Look What You've Done." Now THAT would make this album perfect.
And to close off, I'm gonna be the first to make the inevitable comparisons between this album and his debut, "Thank Me Later." This album actually had a lot more solo songs on it (which is nice because in this day and age, artists tend to have a ton of features on their albums). And the solo songs on "Take Care" were wayyy better than the ones on TML. So clearly Drake's a lot better at holding his own. As for his lyrics, I thought his subject matter was better on TML but there weren't any standouts on TML. "Take Care" had quite a few tracks with "ehhh" subject matter but then there were also some really fantastic lyrical tracks. So TC's ups were better than TML's. As for the beats.. TC shitted on TML. 40 and T-Minus served as perfect accusations for Drizzy as they cooked up some dope, Southern influenced beats. Also, TC flowed more as album than TML. TML felt like a bunch of singles just sorta pushed together.
So in conclusion, was TC better than TML? Well, TC was a lot darker than TML. And I personally like dark sounds and albums. But the better beats, more cohesive feel, solo tracks, and standout tracks all help TC solidify it's place as Drake's best album. In fact, "Take Care" is easily in my top 10 albums of this year, because of it's large amount of musicality. Congrats Drizzy, you took me by surprise.

Wale: Ambition

This was easily one of my most anticipated albums of this year. He created a great buzz for himself after that "More About Nothing" mixtape. I've been a huge fan of the guy since "Nike Boots" first dropped. After his first album was mediocre, I've been waiting for him to put out some incredible shit. And I can safely say he did it on this album. As with most CDs this year, Ambition grows on you. Update: Brought this back to the top.. well for no reason. It's just a good album ahah I don't want people sleepin' on it.

1. Don’t Hold Your Applause [Prod. Tone P] - Very typical Wale sound.. which is good for an intro. It shows that he hasn't lost his old sound. But his verses show serious development. You can tell he's taking that potential from "Attention Defecit" and turning it into something great. He remembers when he was on the front cover of the GQ magazine with Cudi and Drake. Nice track to start with.
2. Double M Genius [Prod. Mark Henry] - Very DMV sounding track here. It's got an old school beat that coulda been on a soap opera or something. "Loud smoker, so pass the L like a semi colon." Ahah classic creative punchline from Wale. His flow seems to be on fire in this albums so far. The hook is iffy, but his lyrics are dope here nonetheless.
3. Miami Nights [Prod. Mark Henry]
4. Legendary [Prod. Toomp] - The moment this beat drops you just say "ohhh shit this one's gonna be epic." I mean forreal, Toomp cooks up a real slapper here. "Only fear is mediocrity, every time I got a beat I feel like I don't gotta sleep, you keep praying on your break, I hope you got a sling, shot for all them shots coming out them beaks, sort of like Socrates in a prada tee, you can't kick it, your pockets thinner than soccer teams." Yep.. Wale went in over this dope beat. I can safely say that his fear of mediocrity shouldn't be a big problem. Wale hasn't sold out at all on this album.
5. Lotus Flower Bomb (feat. Miguel) [Prod. Jerrin Howard]-Review for this song
6. Chain Music [Prod. Tone P] - One of the dope club songs from the "Eleven On Eleven Theory" tape. This song is ridiculously deep. It sounds like a song about riches, but it's actually about how people tend to treat him differently just because he's signed with a major label. It's deep and it's a great radio hit!
7. Focused (feat. Kid Cudi) [Prod. Kore] - Review for this song
8. Sabotage (feat. Lloyd) [Prod. Cloud Eater] - This one is a lot softer, but I like it. This is clearly for the ladies. The guitar driven beat is pretty nice and I love the way it switches up at the chorus into really complete bandstand sounds. Lloyd's chorus is gorgeous. Wale talks about various stories and makes some great points: "people want you single every time you got a spouce." Not gonna lie, even on a track for love, he gives an awesome flow and some very nice punchlines. "Sabotage all the time, Avatar, blue balls." Ahah he's got some really funny punchlines on this album. Very fun song. It grows on you. Oh and the outro is fucking gorgeous. "I need some motherfucking cough drops" describes this song perfectly. Wale sounds raspy as fuck!

9. White Linen (Coolin’) (feat. Ne-Yo) [Prod. Deputy] - This one is gonna have to grow on me. The beat is kinda forgettable, but it builds. Wale does some decent lyrics. I don't love Ne-Yo's chorus. Overall it's a very summery, Caribbean track.. and it's a little late for that. But if this is one of the weaker tracks, then this album is dope. Cuz Wale's lyrically on point.
10. Slight Work (feat. Big Sean) [Prod. Diplo] - This one was reallyyy anticipated. Unfortunately, the beat is a little too basic for some peoples' liking. I actually like it, because it makes the listener focus on the lyrics. Wale does a really different and choppy flow that works well with the bouncy beat. Big Sean comes in and does a solid guest verse. It's a nice cut. The only thing I dislike are the cop car noises. When I listen to this song in the car, I'm gonna think I'm gettin pulled over ahah.
11. Ambition (feat. Meek Mill & Rick Ross) [Prod. T-Minus] - T-Minus returns after a lackluster Drake beat (what's up with dope producers making shitty beats for Drizzy?). The intro starts off slow and mellow as Meek speaks about his childhood (as always ahah). Mill sets as the perfect intro as the beat drops. It's got that typical T-Minus drum beat with some nice piano. The chorus is dopeee and simple. Then Ross comes in and gives it that aggression it needs. Wale finishes it off.. and gives the best verse of the three. The beat switches up a bit as a different piano line comes in with dope bars: "But every n*gga who can read gotta get his issue, subscribe, n*ggas reside where all the lions and killers be, and I ain't spend a minute up in the streets, but I’m limitless mentally, I’m lyrically MC, Lebron shit, I was in that 6 after 23." This beat is sooo amazing, and these three are seriously the perfect team. By far my Favorite Song!!!
12. Illest Bitch [Prod. Tha Bizness] - Tha Bizness cooks up a nice guitar driven beat. Wale spits some real uplifting shit hear for the ladies. This has got to be one of the best messages of the year on a song. Mad respect for him on this. Don't really get the idea of uplifting females by calling them the illest bitches.. but whatever. I get the idea. The first verse he shows admiration for his lady for the work she does for him. The second one he does some storytelling. "Baby father bullshittin', you two don't even speak, ain't seen his seed in 14 days, that n*gga too week, couple shy of a month, I ain't runnin' you up, when it be too loose or you be too late, we ain't tyin' no knot."
13. No Days Off [Prod. Toomp] - Another hardhitting Toomp beat. Wale spits here: "Higher than high school Mariah tunes and fire flutes on fights and hoopers in light shoes." He does a very epic chorus over this slow but powerful beat. It's a ending.
14. DC or Nothing [Prod. Tone P] - Tone P cooks up one of his better beats. It's mostly guitars, but it's got some cool violin breakdowns. On the second verse it has a brief piano breakdown, too. Ambition has had some really good beats. Anyways, the guy on this chorus does an excellent job. It sounds a bit overdone, but it fits with the complex beat. Oh and not to forget, Wale (the star of the show aha). Wale speaks some real deep shit about death: "Caught up and slipping for fearing a McDonald’s position, seen it over a dollar, got him under a flower, funeral drama, n*ggas mystery baby mamas, they ain’t really for condoms, I just think that it’s shocking, got no fear in no officer, they be scared of them doctors, I’m aware that there’s problems, know Obama gon’ stop it, where there’s minimal conscious and there’s thousands of choppers, I know Howard that college, but that town has some problems, I done seen embalming fluid ruin a n*gga promise." In that 16, he talks about how husbands will kill themselves because their lady is pregnant, about how death ruins potential, and about how Obama's gonna fix the "death" of the economy. One of the more political songs on the album. In case you didn't know, Wale references politics a lot. This album is really turning out to be the complete project.
15. That Way (feat. Jeremih & Rick Ross) [Prod. Lex Luger] - You've probably heard this song. Lex Luger switched it up a lot for this one. And Jeremih does the smoothest hook of this year. I've talked about this one before so I won't talk much here. Basically, it's Wale spittin' classy, lyrical excellence over some smooth lounge music. Even though it's a little old, it's my Favorite Song!!! on this album... and maybe of this year.

16. Bait [Prod. Tone P] - What better way then to end with a DMV club hit. This one's been gettin' some serious buzz. I'm happy he included it as a bonus (I wish he had included "Tats on My Arm" also). I love the guitar addition at the end. And the slowed down interlude at the middle of the song is dope also. "Girl stop being fallacious, this Mercedes is spacious, black and white through the city guess this is gentrification, that fire flow the finest women I adore, I'm cool with all these broads in here but I do not date Lucaya hoes"... only Wale would flex his excellent vocabulary on a club track. Overall, it's a great up beat bonus. 

As I said before, the album grows on you. Give it two listens before you decide. It's got some great chapters to it. And it covers every part of his career. He's got some throw back songs (like that first song, Don't Hold Your Applause) that remind you of the Wale from back in the day, some new posse cuts with MMG (Ambition), and some songs you would never expect Wale to make (Sabotage). He's proved his versatility while maintaining his dope lyrics, content, flow, and style. Two things can be sure after hearing Ambition.
One: MMG was a great choice for Wale. He turned his career around. With better features and beats, Wale really put it together. It took some months of bad music, but he came around with an amazing album. If you think that the singing helped him, then listen to "Focused." The old Wale never woulda made a song like that. But this song is quite honestly one of his better songs. Wale made the right moves.
Two: Wale didn't sell out. He still showed the hunger that he possessed when he first got on that XXL cover. He made music to rep his hometown and didn't ignore his roots. A lot of his stuff on the album sounded like stuff from his tapes.. but it was more developed. If anything, I'd say Wale has improved.
"Ambition" marks the comeback of the year. It's easily in my list of favorite albums this year. In the last two months, this is the best album I've heard (it's better than Cole World). Both Wale and I hyped this album up for a reason.. it was the best piece of music this year.
